Troll Con VI (Update: TrollCon coming Home)

Post by Troll Lord »

Hey folks,

Sad news to report...well sad in some ways and good in others. After much deliberation we've decided to move Troll Con VI back to Little Rock. The response to the convention in Muskogee was very luke warm and when coupled with the logistics of running a show out of town it proved to be unpalatable.

So, as much as we wanted to do the show in Oklahoma, we are canceling that venue and bringing it back to Little Rock.

The show's original intent was to build a homegrown convention anyway in the heart of Troll Country...Gotland Ne...or, er Arkansas.
So farewell for now noble Castle in the wilds of beautiful Oklahoma (it really is a beautiful state, especially in the steppes of the west).

We'll have updates very soon on when and where the show will be held. But rest assured it will be held and soon.

Thanks for playing,

Steve

I was looking forward to gaming in the castle again.

I am sad to hear that you are moving it to Little Rock, but I understand. I hope it is more successful for you all than it was last year.

Ok, Arkansas, I'd like to do either, but it looks like something is brewing with my job where I'd miss it no matter where it will be.

Hope everyone enjoys it!

My husband and I are interested in attending the convention, though getting to Little Rock will be tougher than getting to Muskogee. I'm most concerned that the date is going to change, because that would be very difficult to deal with indeed. Do you know yet when you expect to have information?

Man, I would like to go.

Heh, Kim - I could pick up Mr. Reaper on the way!!

Hmm, actually I could pick up Coleston the Cavalier, Mr. Reaper and Combat Kyle.

And maybe some peeps in Mo. if they're close to the border of Il.

We'll see.

Anyone know if it is still going to held in March? The reason I am asking is that now March is bad time for me, and I really want to go to TROLLCON.

April or May would be good, not that you guys need to schedule the con around my schedule.

I think the distance is about the same for me, from way down here in the pointy part of Texas. I'll have to evaluate it as details firm up. Maybe rent a car and see if any Austin or DFW people feel like a road trip (seeing as my Jeep gets about 15 gallons to the mile).

I'll be able to make a Con for the first time in years. Maybe I'll run a C&C game as well.

We MIGHT make it, depending on if we get to LGGC.... Mac, any updated news on when/where this will be? I know Steve & Davis are at the funeral and there's still time of course but I was just wondering...

Standby my fellow trolls, an update concerning TrollCon is coming soon. To let everyone know, we're looking for a July date for TrollCon, and yes, it's coming home to Little Rock. As soon as Steve and I get together, more information will be released.

Stay tuned!

In case anyone missed it on the front page. Troll Con has found a home this July.
http://www.trolllord.com/newsite/events/trollcon6.html

So make plans to attend now. We are working hard on fleshing out the schedule, but needless to say there will plenty of gaming going on.

As always if you have any questions you can post them here, or feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks,

Wanted to drop everyone an update to events that are being fleshed out for TrollCon VI.

First off, we already have 10 attendees signed up to attend the Con.
On the gaming front, I have several of Trolls lined up to run games of C&C (of course). I also have a few people who are looking to run other various RPG games as well (1st ed AD&D, Dark Heresy, Savage Worlds to name a few) for the Con. If you are planning to attend and you would like to run a game, please drop me a line. We welcome just about any type of game at TrollCon.

We have a local Games Workshop guy set to come and run some Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Fantasy miniature games/tourneys with prize support. More information on this will be posted in the coming month.

We also have games lined up of some of the more popular board games to be run (Descent, Zombies, Risk, Talisman) for you gaming enjoyment.

Also i received an email from the very reclusive Mac Golden (maybe you're heard of him?), and he plans on attending TrollCon this year. A good reason right there to join us in July.
As always if you have any questions, feel free to drop me an email.

Thanks,

As it stands now, its 80% likely that Indigo Rose and I will be there...and I'll run a sample session of Victorious! as well as my upcoming module Streets of Burgaine for C&C.

Scheduling....well, that'll depend on what's available. Is there a schedule of games/etc. for Troll Con anywhere?

A gaming schedule is being complied and will be released in the coming weeks. Are you wanting to run an official Con game, or just a pickup game? If you are wanting to run an Official game, email the information on it (what is it, how many players, about how long the session will run), and the preferred time(s) that you would like to run and i'll add to what i already have lined up.

Of course, if you're just wanting to run a pickup game, just show up and run some games.

Hey all,

Just a reminder that Troll Con is just under 2 weeks away. And while most of the event is set and ready to go, we still have a few things we're working on for the Con that hopefully will come together.

One for sure is, we'll have Troll Con T-shirts available for purchase (very similar to how we've been doing the LGGC shirts) at the Con. Price hasn't been set yet.

Also, we'll have a for your enjoyment, a game library for you board game enthusiast out there who are wanting to try a new game, but don't want to plop down the cash first. The library will be mostly from my private collection and those of a few fellow attendees. Simply check out a game to try and return it as you received it. A great way to "try it before you buy it!"

That's about all for now, but make sure to check back in the next two weeks for more updates. Remember to Pre-Register for the Con to get the fantastic rate of $10 for THE ENTIRE WEEKEND (It's $20 at the door).

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks,
