d20 resources for Starsiege

Post by anglefish »

Here's a list of d20 SF RPGs that I know of. I got inspired to put the list together as I was thinking of running Dawning Star with SS rules. Avoid all that talent tree and AdC nonsense.

Aberrant (White Wolfs Trinity)

Adventure (White Wolfs Trinity)

Armageddon 2089

Babylon 5

Brontosaurus Rex

Bulldogs

Centuri Knights

D20 Apocalypse

D20 Future

Darwins World

Dawning Star

Dragon Star

Fading Suns

FantaSci

Farscape

Judge Dread

Redline (Fantasy Flights Horizon line)

SG-1

Star Wars

Starship Troopers

Traveller

Trinity (White Wolfs Trinity)

Virtual (Fantasy Flights Horizon line)

In a few short months, we should get a better idea of which games will convert to easily to SS.

In the meantime, there seems to be a whole cottage industry of PDF makers who are kicking out d20 Modern and d20 Future products that we might be able to use.

D20 Prime Directive can be added to the list.

Regarding Dawning Star great Campaign setting! I've got all the books for it. It's very well done. I can see why you'd want to run a Campaign in such a rich setting.

I don't know if it is still out there but I always like an off shoot game of rifts, Manhunter I think it was called.

Also ROBOTECH could be fun.

Dawning Star

What is the story with these 2? I've heard a little about them but never played or even seen them.

Good to here more good news on Dawning Star. Of course, it's pure speculation on how tough it's going to be to convert.

I hope my player intro will be impressive. I plan to have them make up 10th level characters during the time before the Exodus from Earth. They start off kidnaped only to discover they were going to be picked as the bridge crew of a unfinished colony ship.

The kidnappers don't want money, they want berths!

ROBOTECH, that went d20?

Why limit yourself to d20, which, arguably, is identical to each other in terms of game options? Seems a rather large waste of the entire genre.

I agree. If I play/buy StarSiege, I'd try a Star Frontiers version of it. Of course, that would mean buying a bunch of PDF's because I never owned anything when we played -- my best friend did. Should've bought his collection from him, I guess.

Thanks both for the suggestion. That is awesome. I didn't even know that was around. This intraweb thingy is neat!

You'll have to drop the gloves if your scoring prowess isn't getting you noticed.

While recovering from my surgery I've been tossing around ideas for a Star Siege Campaign. Went through my box of old Sci-fi RPG stuff came out with some goodies! Which are now scattered accross my living room.

A classic Twilight 2000 adventure that I'll be tweaking for use.

Several Alternity books and adventures. (always liked this game)

Aah there's a GURPS book/adventure I'll be using...

bunch of old d6 Star Wars modules. While I won't have Darth Vader in my Campaign, I can still use alot of the cool maps and some of the NPC's.

Fading Suns...not necessarily the d20 stuff, some of the original supplements have some pretty cool stuff..

Rifts: Three Galaxies and such...I'm not planning on going too over the top, but some interesting ideas to use.

Spacemaster RPG

Space Opera RPG (the old FGU game, lot's of great stuff!)

aaah yes good times ahead!!

For those of you who are interested, here is an excellent Star Frontiers site done by Bill Logan. He has done some very good work on remastering the Star Frontier books and modules, plus he has his own SF magazine, the Star Frontiersman.

Give it a look:
