Just picked up a copy of this. and while I have found I have absolutely no desire to run 3.X ever again, I keep thinking some of the ideas (though definitely not all of them!) could be interesting to use in C&C.
Has anyone else looked at this yet and had the same thoughts? Or actually used some of the ideas in their games?

No, I haven't, but I am sure your right about there being good stuff to steal. Monte is always a great source for ideas.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

There was a thread in the Open Discussion section about this book and a couple ideas had started being tossed around:

There are some gems in this little work to be sure.
How the book handles hitpoints, healing, and the notion of 'taking a breather' are some of the things I like the most. The discipline scheme isn't too bad either (I see good and bad). As to a fit with C&C? I haven't decided to go that route yet but I love the options all-in-all.
