StarSIEGE: Event Horizon -- Final Playtest: Call for help!

Post by cheeplives »

I want to a final playtest of the rules. The idea would be to release the rules to a group of playtesters by Cinco De Mayo (May 5) and have results back from them no later than Veinte De Mayo (May 20). That gives a spartan two weeks to read the game and run it, but I think that's more than enough.

That said, I really need Actual Play more than copy-editing type stuff. So, if you're interested in joining up in this final playtest, please respond here. I am looking for 5 to 10 groups, if possible. Signing up for this will get you a sneak peek at the StarSIEGE Field Manual and Operations Manual as well as credit in the book for you and your playtesters. All I ask is that you get me results by 5-20, as that will give me two weeks for re-writes and such.

So, let me know if you're interested.

I would love to play test this little gem... I'm sure I'd have a couple of players up to the task too!

GAH! Won't be able to get playtesting as I'm going to be out of town for the majority of the month of May. Good luck guys. Make it strong.

All right... I have enough people now. So I'm closing the playtest.

I'll be sending out PMs to get contact info from the playtest groups.

Thanks for the help on this, everyone!

Amazingly enough I got my pm to finally go through. I'm not sure if it's an AOL or dial up issue but I haven't been able to get on TLG's or Savage Worlds' forums since we've been back online. It may have just cost me an opportunity to play test. Any help?

Have you had the chance to send out stuff yet? I haven't received anything, and this weekend would be a great time for me to look over the info.

Thanks!

As was stated, the plans are to get the info out on May 5th. I'm hoping to get it out sooner, but we'll see how things go.

As a side note, would people prefer PDF or Word doc?

Also, this is going to be largely unformatted save for section headers and a basic table of contents.

Probably pdf. Hopefully it will unzip properly on this computer. Most of the TLG downloads(blacktooth supplements, rising knight, and lion of the ropes) have. Definately looking forward to it.

Mordrene wins the "most favored by Josh" award for the day.
I'll aim for an easy-peasy PDF if possible (i.e. no cross-links or anything like that).

trolls should make it download-able by certain individuals with a blog space to make comments, so those of us not involved can still see what is going on. most other companies do this. i know i might be interested in seeing it

Same here.

Please post if you are 100% sure that no more testers are needed, so I can let my group know.

Sorry about that, Treebore... your email got lost in the shuffle. I'm sending the files now.

And I am also going to call the playtesting offer officially closed. Thanks to everyone who wanted to participate as well as those who are participating...

To those of you who were accepted for playtesting (you would have gotten a PM from me on it), did anyone else not receive the files yet?

OK, I like this, a lot! Looking forward to trying it out with my Thursday group.

Personally I would not run this at its "most complex", but for play test purposes I will. Plus the scalability of the complexity is one of the things I have immediately fell in love with.

I'll e-mail you our specific feedback as we play our sessions..
