AGJ #2

Post by Omote »

Any word?

Is this project dead in the water?

Has Adventure Games Journal been put on the backburner for the Player's Guides to the Wilderlands?

What about the subscribers to AGJ? Is additional product on the way out the door for them?

Here are four words: "Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"

A No-Prize to the one who identifies that quote.
(Oh, and that is in no way to be construed as casting aspersions on the question... the question is quite valid).

No, just stalled.

Actually, the first Campaign Installment had been put on the back burner for the Revised Player's Guides. However, with Bob's passing, now the Player's Guides are on the back burner, as a new approvals process has to be worked out. Wilderlands of High Fantasy products required approval by Bob; Wilderlands of High Adventure products do not. So back on to the Campaign Installment, the Player's Guide to the Southern Reaches.

The first Campaign Installment and the Continental Map of Rhadamanthia will be the next thing out the doors. Thereafter follows Adventure Games Journal #2 and... Wilderlands of High Adventure District Map 9: Western Karak, an 11"x17" map and a guide booklet of Western Karak (that portion next to the Wilderlands proper). The map and guide booklet are the freebies for subscribers with AGJ #2. Probably thereafter the first Sandbox Module or Player's Guide; depends on how soon Bob Jr. gets things going with Judges Guild (I'm not pushing on that). Then the second Campaign Installment (Roglaras) and first Judge's Gazetteer.

And as I've stated elsewhere, I'm no longer quoting dates.

A dumbledoreism.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure we'll be watching and waiting.

Indeed! After I finished the final book I went back and re-read those four words, hoping to find something in there that clued in or foreshadowed some of the whole story... nope...

I'm a bit confused by this. I would have thought that after the Player's Guide to the Southern Reaches is available that the next product would have been the Judge's Guide to the Southern Reaches? It seems rather strange not to finish up the Southern Reaches before moving on to other areas of the Wilderlands. Or is the Player's Guide all that one needs (whether Judge or not)?

I guess that my underlying concern is that it would be nice to have everything one needs to run a Wilderlands of High Adventure campaign in one region. I'm not sure releasing scraps of detailed information on very different parts of the world is as useful to Judges (aside from what comes out in the AGJ of course).

Hey James,

Can you give us an update on this? I'm particularly interested in your plans for AGJ as a periodical.

Mike and all,

I should have a thorough update on the status of AGJ #2 sometime this week.
