Where is your world?

So, with all the questions about where to set a C&C campaign, howabout where is your current C&C campaign set?

I voted Other, as I use homebrew, but with bits of published settings tossed in. So, we have Yggsburgh to the west, far in the north Bard's Gate, and somewhere presumably Hollowfaust.

The current place were gaming is on the western side of the western continent from my old AD&D campaign setting, Nevere.

Dragonlance, but that's a given with me. I'm running Spectre of Sorrows, part two of the Age of Mortals campaign.

I'm curious, did you convert the characters from 3e to C&C and conitnue the series or did ya start KoD with C&C characters?

My group is waiting (impatiently I might add) for PoC and I'm considering converting their characters to C&C and running it that way. Just not sure if it would work out well that way.

My campaigns are currently set in my homebrew world of the Rhuinlands. Although i have fully integrated Yggsburgh and the surround areas into my campaign, so it's a bit of a hybrid.

In the past I've run Greyhawk and Kalamar with my former group in Louisiana (who I really miss!)

From here on I'll be using my own world Ilshara, although I just got Yggsburgh and will use it in the future as well.

The world I would use is listed as "Other," it being a conglomerate of Ravenloft and other settings. And homebrewed nastiness. Got to have the nastiness.

I recently got the Yggsburgh book, and a copy of the 2nd ed Ravenloft boxed set (for 99cents!!!), as well as having the 3rd ed Ravenloft and bits and pieces of other settings. However... I'm a diehard Eberron fanatic. I love the new feel of the setting, and since I just got back into gaming no more than 4 years ago, I find it easier with a new setting. Most of the older settings have been played to death and I can't DM to 'know it alls' who've been gaming for ever in Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Greyhawk... etc. It's a daunting task to try and capture the spirit & feel of a setting if you haven't been exposed to it as much as your players.

With Eberron however, I've been into it since the beginning. I LOVE IT! I hate some of the 3.5 aspects of it, but I adapt what I need to my flavor of D&D/C&C. I've demonstrated the C&C product with the Eberron setting at a local store (several times), and have had nothing but rave reviews and people begging to join in a game. It's become quite evident to me and many I've DMed to, that the simplicity of C&C lends itself perfectly to the Heroic / Pulpy feel of Eberron.

With all that said however, I've been questioning my choices thus far. I find that WOTC are putting out too much and paying 35$ per book for 1/2 a book of CRUNCH isn't my idea of fun. Also, the fact that the players are starting to really get into all the PC and Feats and stuff offered by Eberron, is making my life a bit difficult these days. There has been a question of just downgrading the D&D rules by dropping feats and skills and adapting Primes. Therefore I wouldn't have to worry too much about conversions, but people have told me that won't work.

I don't know how much longer I can keep it going with C&C, but that's why I'm looking into Yggsburgh. I'm not sure if Yggsburgh would be a good replacement for Eberron. I'm not sure if it has the same feel, so I'm at a crossroads you can say. At the moment I guess I should say I'm running my own 'REN-BERRON'. (my name + Berron !!!)

I'll vote for Eberron for now. Time will tell what will happen...

I converted around the start of Spectre. I had done 3e throughout KoD.

I should probably mention that I used C&C as a baseline and have added to it. My game is sort of a hybrid C&C/D&D in a way, though it leans more towards C&C.

My only concern, really, would be Gellidus. I would probably go with a C&C version of a white rather than use the PoC version.

I've actually thought about running Eberron with C&C at some point. While I think there's a bit of conceptual clutter in the setting, for the most part I dig it.

I will start running my homebrew world Zalmaria: The United Empire and a hand painted map and a detailed gazette are on they way (maybe DF will post it, its still a few weeks away). I will use the world for my home game and my online game. It is deity light (compared to most worlds) and demi-human heavy. The world is based on the Roman Empire, but with fantasy elements (I eliminated slavery as well). But the constant threat of constant invaders is there, plus all of the political intrigue.

My campaign world is Aihrde with elements of Greyhawk and Ravenloft. It's big enough with great areas and continents that will accommodate parts of other worlds or cities, such as Yggsburgh which will fit in perfectly.

Harder to answer. When I DM it's normally my own homebrew type, but since someone else is DM'ing right now, it's Erde/Yggsburgh.

Technically I think my Erde is a homebrew. I use the Erde idea as a backdrop, insert Wilderlands off the map to the west, put in Bard's Gate, Lahkmar, Apple Grove, Farihill, Endhome, Don Eamon, Whitewater, etc...

Yah, its all published material, but it is arranged to my tastes. Isn't that what a homebrew really is? A world designed to our tastes?

I am using my homebrew which has two major continents on either side of the globe. Yggsburgh is part of the continent known as Aeroon, and currently I am running on the other continent known as Gardrria. Both continents are a conglomeration of influences from Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms, but are like neither.

I like the flavor of Ebberon but it jsut doesn't have a place in my homebrew as my homebrew started about 1990.

Anyway, just throwing in two coppers to help y'all get a handle on what others are doin'.

I voted Yggsburgh, as it is the centerpiece of my campaign, but it is in the World of Greyhawk and using the '83 boxed set, so that the timeline is at present 576 CY. Yggsburgh is set between the Ery and Neen Rivers, which are loclly referred to as the Urt and the Neen, respectively. This location for Yggsburgh is suggested by none other than Gary Gygax himself.

Right now my next campaign is due to be a small homebrew, I do want to check out Haunted Highlands and DCC World, and if either fits my needs I'll switch to that setting.

Once the C&C version of Erde is released I want to run the "A" series there.

I used my homebrew setting ("Ilmahal") for my last campaign (which sadly didn't last very long, as I moved shortly after we started).

For my next campaign I'm strongly tempted to use the Wilderlands, although my homebrew continues to have a strong appeal. The upcoming campaign setting from Goodman Games ('Known Realms') also looks interesting.
