Well, if part of our supposed "goal" was to take over the oil fields in Iraq, it certainly does not seem to be helping our oil crisis in any way! The whole problem with conspiracy theories is that they're all based on the assumptions that everyone in the conspiracy will a) work together as planned, b) nobody will go off-tangent and try to get a little personal extra out of the Big Plan, and most importantly of all, c) keep the secret. Human nature being what it is, this almost never happens...

What a load of rubbish. If you believe that, you'll believe anything. People with money and power want more money and power, no surprises there, but illumanati conspiracies? Pure fantasy (and most of us on this forum should be well acquainted with the distinction between fantasy and reality).

"Well, yeah...heck, I've even seen evidence of human beings doing things to increase their social standing, control, or whatever, in the very people around me."

Then I further ask myself: "Is it a reasonable deduction to make then, that people with billions and billions of dollars also do this?"

So, I keep my mind open.

Don't get me wrong. I find this stuff funny. But, it proves nothing, other than a little fear-mongering works wonders.

Someone I know who was highly placed at the North American level once had this to say to me about conspiracy theories:

"I've been in meetings with ambitious international power-brokers. They can't even agree on what to order for lunch, much less how to run the continent".

The issue slimy, me pal, is not about "would such people seek to increase their power" -- it's that, as Indigo Rose so succintly put it -- "what's the likelihood that such people could functionally cooperate, in complete secrecy, on a sustained and ongoing basis?"

Short-term dirty deals are one thing, but enduring conspiracy stuff gets more and more statistically unlikely, because of things like human arrogance, and the fact that secrets exist, ultimately, to be told to someone.

There are exceptions to every rule, of course, but I think long-term conspiracy is rare-to-nonexistent for the most part.

Sorry, slimy. You're absolutely entitled to your beliefs, but I can't follow you on this one.

I find it extremely entertaining (and this is from someone who was incredibly immersed in the tin-foil hat wearing crowd for a number of years), that the very first statement is such an emphatic, convinced, assured exclamation as to what the global objectives are, yet this shadow cabal is always referred to as "those, them" or other indistinct references.

how can you be so assured as to what is going on why you don't know exactly who is doing it... other than "them" or "those" or "bankers" or "UN" or "jew"

My best buddy in college also happened to be jewish. One day, as we're walking across campus, after a mutually awful day (we were both having girl trouble, classes were murder, money was tight, the usual), I looked at him -- completely deadpan -- and said:

"Hey, Zev"

"Yeah?" says he.

"So, tell me. If your people secretly control the world, then how come we aren't having a better time here?"

He thinks a second, then replies, also completely deadpan "I must've missed a meeting".

We made it about four more steps, and then just started howling with laughter ...

when in a sufficiently large enough group.

one thing I learned really early on in my "researches" was that for any "conspiracy" there was an agenda being pushed. George Bush is satan (example), mostly come from liberals (guess Democrats from the states). Fiat currency is bad - what's the agenda...

in fact, there are so many agenda's and counter conspiracies, that if you were to create a balance sheet with "left" conspiracies on one side and "right" conspiracies on the other, and matched each column for each major topic heading - NWO, Currencies, 9/11, Rothschilds, they would essentially cancel each other out..

(one interesting side note, a site that I was really active in back in the day, there was a poster who was really big into promoting the illegal powers that the canadian government had in the realm of taxation - same issues are claimed time and time again about the IRS. Basically, there was/is?? a website called detaxcanada.com or something like that, with all this heavy proof about how it was really against the law for teh feds to tax us citizens, and if you refused to fill a tax form, there was nothing they could do - something like writing "I reject your powers" - seem kind of like fiat money doesn't it??? to make a long story short, what nobody apparently did except for me was to research this organization which was selling their detax canada plan.. their 19 bucks to buy you out of a lifetime of having to pay income tax. Turns out that the organization was a subsidiary of a white supremest group. they were funding their compound in Calgary by a) feeding bull to the tin-foil wearing crowd, b) inventing plausible sounding "theories" that was taken hook line and sinker by a whole host of people who just wanted to believe - for what? spreading hate... no thanks.... always always always ask yourself - what is the agenda of the person who is posting these items, and what are they after?

Of course, it is easy to make any internet citation for, or against, anything. And, because it is not currently in existence does not necessitate its ability to not exist. So, take it for what it is worth... but, if you think it is a real thing, currently, you might want to rethink it.

yes I'm being skeptical. why? because I find it strange to question - I don't know, say the bilderburgers or Davos, but to not question the sources from whence your information came from with the SAME level of skeptisism...

as for a unified north american union - I remember seeing plans about that back in the 80's.. for a unified dollar - same. I also read a DOD plan from 1930 or so about an invasion plan to Canada - hasn't happened so far. there are all kinds of people, smart and not so smart, coming up with all kinds of different plans, but thinking it and acting on it are 2 different things...

In a way, an amero, or euro (amero is so funny in and of itself - just the naming makes it funny) is moot. up until recently before all the financial mess - the greenback was already the amero... and today - with more money moving around in one's and zero's, currency has less and less meaning... I hardly use cash anymore as it is...

I'm not worried at all; the union was made public in 2002, as was the amero.

And Central Bank, well, that's pretty public as well.

The funny thing is that these things are never -or rarely- in the news...

So it's good to see people question, and talk, and wonder...and not just put everything on a shelf marked: ridiculous conspiracy.

The simple fact is, everything around us is manufactured in some way: nuclear families, gender roles, etc. and yes, people design them to suit a particular purpose.

So with the advent of the internet, we can examine things unfold that were otherwise kept from people until they made their way into the propaganda machine.

There's no conspiracy here, just powerful groups battling it out for the ability to shape the future.

P.S. I had a student ask to present his argumentative speech on the topic of "America faked the moon landing." I calmly said, my class supports freedom of speech and he is welcome to any such topic, but warned that the bar would be high for him - especially on research. He did a good job actually, only really failing in credibility of sources, but his thesis on why a government could have desired to do so (political pressure during Cold War to "win" against Russia at all costs) was solid.

The point is, information is more accessable than ever, and it's frustrating to hear people who lump everything under: alien conspiracy.

I'm glad peole question world events, when supported by evidence, I'm glad for debate, and I'm glad the powers that be ie. Central bank (a private corporation that's makes every dime of U.S. currency whenever they like) can't dictate when governments put up signs saying 'smoking's good' one year...and 'smoking's bad' the next.

If it wasn't for internet and dialogue, people wouldn't know that the U.S. government installed the Shah in Iran, or that CSIS has tapped your phone 1/14 times during your lifetime here in Canada.
