Sorry guys

Post by bloodymage »

I haven't been around in a while. Ex died in December and I got custody of my youngest son Amos who is 17. He has serious behavior problems and it's a bit like 24/7 babysitting. He's lost my heirloom shotgon, he's stolen and sold my pain pills, he doesn't know how to clean or pick-up after himself. Progress is slow but I'm hoping I can reverse or at least mitigate his bad habits before he steps out into the world. He'll be 18 in February and if he doesn't learn by the time he steps out of my postage stamp of a house, he'll soon end up in prison or in a grave.

I've inquired into the health of Troll Lord's family after the horrendous tornado season three times with no reply. My computer is down so I'm stuck on a small library computer. I only have access half the day two hours max for the five days it's open. There are five computers available so some days I can't get on, other days, I'm limited to an hour by folks waiting to get online.

So, here I am, alive and it looks as if all is calm in the Troll Lord universe. It may take awhile, but I'll be back producing as soon as I can.

Seconded. Sorry to hear about your woes, but I'm glad that things seem to be slowly looking up. You said "progress was slow", so I'm taking that to mean that there is at least progress occurring! Hang in there...

May things get ironed on the great board. Hope you're well - everything else is inconsequential.

Thanks all. I'm not likely going to be able to make any cons this year (2 locals left). Kid is training for the Army and I sure hope he's accepted. Gonna be tough with his flat feet and his history of mental care (word is they're accepting about anyone, though). Says he "hates" me, but someone has to turn him into a man. Sure wish I could make it back there but there's just no way with his behavior problems and the ridiculous gas prices. I'll be moving to Kentucky ASAP (relatives from KY branch, my AK branch have all died out), so I'll be in a better position to participate in my beloved hobby again.

BM, I think you're right about them taking almost anybody these days. Politicians become less discerning when there's a war on. To some of the D.C. crowd a body is just a body. It matters not if they stole a few cars, or lived a sqeaky clean life. *disclaimer* I probably came off very left-wing/anti-war just now. And, the fact is that I'm what some call a South Park conservative. I embody the finer fiscal/pro-constitution points of the Republican side, mixed with doses of libertarianism. hehe Truth be told, I'm probably at least 75% hawk, and certainly believe that there were definately some legitimate conflicts in our time(World War II among them). Just got a little fired up, because of those who have benefited from our current state of affairs. Haliburton(from the elephant side of the isle), and it was either liberal Barbara Boxer, or Diane Feinstein's husband who has been scrumming up the scraps from the Iraqi war. My main beef is with some of the "war pig" politicians, and NOT the soldier. Hell, sometimes war is necessary. Sorry about my ramblings. I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your son. I can relate to a family member who had many troubles, especially in the teens-early 30's range. He's in county jail, and will most likely end up in the BIG house before it's over with. It pains me to say it(without going into details), but he deserves it. Pardon me for bringing down the forum with this. I'm sure I'll be posting many other pro-TLG chipper, happy threads!

As long as he's got a pulse and hasn't had a felony conviction within the last 6 months or so, he's got a good shot at getting in. Staying in will be up to him but once he's out of the house, you've done your part. Just keep him out of jail until they ship him to MEPS (is it still MEPS?) and you're on track. Where are you going to land in lovely KY (state motto: slide right in)?

I sure hope things get better for ya, BM. Best of luck.

And if you move to Kentucky, you'll have a shot at the LGGC, EgyptCON, GenCON and the TrollCON - so that would be good for ya.

Things still not going well. I'm out of this modern pit on 8/27 and should be set back up shortly thereafter.
