Free RPF Day .. extra stuff!

Post by porkuslime »

Hey.. went by the ONLY store in central ohio to do Free RPG Day today.. and they still had extra stock of books..

They let me take a bunch more copies, in the hope than someone here on the boards MIGHT want a couple titles..

If you want one of these books, please send a PM to me.. I would LIKE to be able to re-coup my gas costs, and I will be asking to have you pay the shipping on em.. thus I vastly prefer to ship to within the USA.

Also, I want to give these to as many folks as can be.. so please don't ask for all the copies of something.. share with others, k?

I have..

C&C 2008 Quickstart Rules (with Dwarven Glory II adventure) - 4 copies!

Tunnels & Trolls Take the Money - 3 copies

Paizo Revenge of the Kobold King - 2 copy

Traveller SQ Book 0 - 3 copies

Castlemourn FRPG title.. - 1 copy

anyone want.. PM me!

So you know, you could make a killing on eBay with the 4e stuff. Those are selling for over $30 on average.

Really? Ha, ha. I thought it was pretty poor fare.

Yeah, really. Attribute it to the "new is always good" factor and, well, people rushing to be the "first one" to own everything 4e. Heck, I wish I could get rid of those Gleemax stress brains I have... the prices on those things are rather ridiculous, but whatever - I wish I'd grabbed the copies I was offered.

Which is part of the reason why I'm considering parting with mine. Sure, it isn't in shrinkwarp anymore since I wanted to check it out but I'm fairly certain I could get $20 easy for it.

Ah, the blessing and curse that is E-bay. Sometimes it's useful to buy bits of my past, and other things at a halfway reasonable price. Or, (and beauty is in the eye of the beholder) it is a marketplace for people(from our hobbies, and others-comics, mini's, etc) to plunk down insane amounts of money for plastic mini's that have only been out for less than a year, or some short 4E mod that was a freebie a few days ago. You can argue whether near mint copies of Hulk 181 with the first appearance of Wolverine is worth what it is, or if gobs of money should be spent on Babe Ruth ball cards, but I know which items will hold their value if you ever choose to sell them, and it aint gonna be some 40.00 or 50.00 Boba Fett mini from 4 years ago, or some free rpg day mod for 4th edition. Egads! Ebay, I hate it and love it at the same time.

Well, I have to say that I'm a bit annoyed at how NKG has decided to handle Free RPG Day this year. I don't mind them holding it on till Wednesday... I don't mind them imposing certain limitations such as no more than two and no duplicates. The '1 extra item' for every $25 spent seems OK too.

The only part I found a tad inconvenient is that they start doing this tomorrow at 11:00 AM CST. I recall last year when they thought they had plenty to go around when items were gone within the hour of putting the stuff up. What was irksome last year is that the stuff got put up before a bunch of people were expecting it. Admittedly, I was one of the lucky ones (considering Free RPG Day was only in the US last year).

With tomorrow, the constraints of work, means the earliest I'd be placing an order is 6 hours after the fact. At least I got the top two that were on my list but I expect the Goodman Games one will be remaining elusive for me.

Despite my insignificant commentary, I also did want to make sure my fellow Crusaders were aware of the times in the event they are in a better position to take advantage of this opportunity.

Good Hunting!

Yes... I believe it was mentioned once or twice but given these particular circumstances, I will not take offense!

What would you want for the StarSIEGE quickstart and the Paizo offering?

If he still has them? $5.00 to cover shipping costs (packaging and postage) and gas for driving to the post office.

I am desperately trying to get my hands also on the WotC stuff (the adventure, tiles, and mini). Anyone willing to sell these to me? I was unable to go to Free RPG Day because I attended my brother's birthday family gathering and it was also for his daughter's birthday as well. Only 1 store in my area participatedm Ravenstone, and they are quite a distance away.

A big thanks to porkuslime for the Paizo and StarSIEGE offerings!!

Place an online order with Noble Knight Games tomorrow. For each $25.00 bought they give an additional Free RPG day item.

Thanks! I was a bit confused though. If you read the description of the Free RPG Day stuff they listed it makes it seem like you can order 1 item from Free RPG Day for free.

I went to make an order on their website but I don't see a way to add any of the Free RPG stuff with it. I have no idea how to add what you want.

Probably can't. Until tomorrow.

Last year, when I bought two items from the FRPGD stuff, I did not like the experience. I will not be repeating it.

I got what I wanted. Had to drive 2 hours to do it, but, oh well.

The world is a crazy place. I wonder if it will have any value in five years time?

Either do a search or go to their online newsletter http://www.nobleknight.com/newsletter/newsletter.html and add the .01 items you want (within the limit) to your cart.

Weird. I am trying to make an order and trying to add the WotC items from the newsletter but it isn't registering. It won't put them into my cart.

I've heard now its taking like 45 minutes since the site is being swamped. Have you tried putting something else you want in, as I'm not sure if items are being deleted from the newsletter or even just the ability to add them when they are gone.

I managed to get my order in right at 11:00, by 11:09 seems the site was swamped to a standstill (for me at least). I got my confirmation before the mega-rush, so hopefully I'll get my stuffs.

I cannot get it to add any of the free rpg stuff to add to my cart. I click the links and nothing happens....even when I add other rpg items.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic! I just called them and they confirmed that the WotC stuff I was so desperately trying to get is now sold out so it seems I have been foiled again.

My opinion of Free RPG Day has now sunk even lower.

Why didn't you just go to the WotC product section and throw them in the cart there?

I tried. You click the link and it takes you back to the homepage for each item. It would not place them in my cart.

Hmmm. Weird. I didn't even look at the newsletter thing. I just went shopping like I normally do and navigated to the company areas that has stuffs I wanted. It could have very well been the lag that killed ya though. I was running slow at 11:00, after I did my order the site became damn near un-navigatable.

Yeah the site was crazy and went down at least a few times today. I eventually e-mailed NKG and asked them for help, and help was received.

NKG customer service is 200% kickassedness. Without a local store I consider NKG my FLGS.

Glad to see the C&C Quickstart "sold" out and StarSiege is in the Top Sellers list.

Oh! And NKG has the leatherette PHB now too.

I just ordered some more C&C stuff I wanted and listed the Free RPG day stuff I wanted in the memo/note section. A follow up e-mail confirmed I got what I wanted.

Which was HArn, WOTC, and Goodman. I am getting two others thanks to porkuslime.

So Free RPG Day ended up being good for me.
