Happy Independence Day!

Post by Taranthyll »

Happy 4th of July to our friends to the south* - I hope everyone has a great long weekend and is able to eat copious amounts of barbecued meat!
*Just what is the collective term for U.S. citizens anyway? I know people generally refer to them as Americans, but technically that term is for anyone living in the Americas. I'm thinking United Statesmen.

Thanks, we had a good day here.

No barbequed meat (that's tomorrow) but instead had Kugelis (a Lithuanian tators/bacon/eggs casserole) and White Russians.

Excellent fireworks right in the neighborhood, so we all sat out on the patio enjoying our outdoor fireplace . . . and NO mosquitoes!!

I ate entirely too much.

I drank entirely too much.

I got 3rd degree burns to my right hand.

I got 2 hours of sleep before staggering into work this morning.

I love the 4th.

Looking forward to next year. But now it's time to finally sleep.

The 4th is my son's birthday (he turned 6 this year). It was pretty darn good, overall. Barbecue, birthday cake, and a few cold ones is a rough combination, though.
