Actually I'm kinda pissed since I just wasted a download (there are a limited number of them per product you buy which is total BS IMO). With the new printing being up, I figured I'd grab it and went to my download history to get it figuring that the download would be linked to the new version of the text. As it turns out it wasn't.

I'm going to send rpgnow an email to see if that can be rectified and if my download counter can be reset.

EDIT -- Got a response back from RPGNow and a couple of interesting answers. First they are going to get someone from their publisher relations department to contact the publisher to find out if they intend to offer the new product as an update to the older one.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, they responded to my question regarding the download count. Though instituted to help curb piracy I can have the counter reset if it reaches zero for a particular product/order I have made in the past by getting in touch with them. Presumably, they can better 'control' the flow of a particular file from various accounts that way.

Anyway, I thought this interesting to know. If I hear anything else regarding this particular PDF, I'll be sure to pass it along!

Mort, I'm really not sure what your talking about? You bought the 2nd printing and got the first?

As for the Canting Crew. I honestly had forgotten about that. I'll look into getting it up asap!

Hi Steve,

No... I bought the M&T PDF sometime ago (when it was still the first printing). However, since I heard about the 2nd printing being up, I assumed it replaced the 1st print PDF. Since RPGNow allows for product 'upgrades', it becomes possible to download newer versions of PDFs you have already downloaded them in the past at no charge. This is what seems to have happened to the Vakhund C&C module (it went from a 21 page PDF to a 25 page one with the newer style cover) and this is what I thought was happening with the M&T PDF.

Of course the biggest annoyance was the whole download counter issue with RPGNow which, as it turns out, isn't as big of a problem as I once thought it was.

As for the M&T PDF ... it would simply be nice to be able to get the newer version in PDF form with matching cover to match the PHB PDF but not necessary.

Bottom line and the lesson learned: I really need to have a cup of coffee BEFORE I start working on the computer in the morning!

I'm still a bit confused (what's new right).
Like moriarty777, I picked up M&T in pdf a while back. When I download it now I still get the 1st printing even though it should be upgraded to the 2nd printing. Is this something that is going to be taken care of or is the 2nd printing not actually going to be an upgrade from the 1st printing?

From my brief exchange from RPGNow, it is my understanding it is the publishers option if it is to be an upgrade or not. As it stands right now, the M&T 2nd Printing is a new product as opposed to an upgrade to the previous version.

That probably won't help you but I'm sure some clarity will happen in the days to come!

Thanks, I appreciate the help. So it's in Steve's court then?
Edit: I noted that only one M&T is available (meaning the 1st printing is no longer for sale but I can still DL it as the 2nd printing is not an upgrade). I assume this means if I purchase a new M&T pdf (even though it seems to be the same product) I will, indeed, get the send printing...and not another 5 DL of the 1st?

As much as would like to have an e-copy of the M&T to go with my e-copy of the PHB, I don't see the need in spending the money on a product that is missing information and not current with the print copy I already have (i.e. the leatherette version).

There have been two 2nd printings? I don't know anything about that, but the one I can DL now (which says it's the 2nd printing but I purchased it when it was the 1st) does not have the vampire spawn info.

I can't say about the DL link since it doesn't give you that information. But the only M&T product that you can currently purchase is listed as the 2nd printing. So, my fear is even if I buy another copy of the M&T on pdf it would still be the same document I've already got DL links for.

I think I just misread/misunderstood your earlier post.

There has only been 'one' 2nd printing of the M&T. Where there is a bit of confusion I believe would be with the production of the lesser expensive leatherette versions -- in particular the PHB.

What happened with the PHB is that certain errors were corrected after the 2nd print of it before the 3rd print came out. When they did the leatherette version, they implemented the corrections that had been made at the time. In essence, you have a PHB more up-to-date than the 2nd printing but not as up to date as the 3rd printing. The biggest version between the leatherette version and the 3rd printing would be the poison tables.

It is likely that the same sort of thing happened with the M&T. If the leatherette version came out AFTER the 2nd printing of the M&T, it is possible that there may have been a couple of corrections. However, these won't be anything like the scale of corrections that a 3rd printing of the M&T will have (when it comes out).

It's only a small matter of time before the 4th Print PHB comes out as well.
