That was funny. Nothing like waiting for the DM/CK to drop in the monster's treasure at the last moment. Classic.

looks good. panel borders are where the magic is according to scott mccloud, so it might be a good idea to keep them. Word balloons breaking panel borders is also something that should be reserved for special occasions, especially when they encroach upon other balloons in other panels.

I love the lego work though, and the story is entertaining.

Give "Understanding Comics" a gander, it is in most libraries.

Hi thanks for the advice!
I own "Understanding comics" and his other book "Reinventing Comics"

That latter was actually one of the reasons why I wanted to start making comics.

On one hand I do agree with you about the balloon being in panels. On the other hand, its about necessity. Unlike free hand drawing it is not easy to keep things in order when you're using a program etc. But utilizing the "budget" approach that I have to its very hard to have the comic come out exactly as I see it and unfortunately that means cutting back here and there.
On the third hand (hehe) ... I actually did the panel crossing on purpose. Especially on issue #5 in the last two frames to represent a split second of time between the POP! and the other conversation. Also I wanted to give the image of a "chaotic" scene in #5 where everyone is yelling here and there. Hope that clears it up a little?

But thank you for your advice, I will go re-read that section of "Understanding comics"!

:p

Haha, no worries, on hindsight my advice might have been too harsh.

keep it up!

There is a cool comic creating software for the mac called the comic life, looks like it is for pc as well:
http://plasq.com/comiclife-win

30 day trial can get ya started! Plus it is kinda groovy; there are a bunch of samples on their site of what people have done, check it out.

No problems! I like having intellectual discussions about comics! I have it all the time with my best man. And I really do respect Scott M. a lot.

I actually did look back at issue #1 and wondered what the heck I was doing haha...

I think its getting shorter but sweeter. The first two issues had to be long to introduce the PCs because I wanted to jump right into the action in #3.

It's a learning process! And I think I'm actually getting marginally better as time goes on... (I hope!)
