Not for me. Gencon is kind of a non-event in my book kinda like e3 has become.

It shouldn't be too lonely as probably most people on these and the other forums aren't going to the Con. So we'll most likely be hangin' out here and such. 8)

What are the dates for Gencon? Is it underway now?

The only time I went to Gencon was around 1982 (I was 11). I'd like to go again sometime.

I'll be around. Gen con is too far and too expensive for me. Not to mention being too full of 3e crap.

That and thanks to the recent announcement by Mr. Adkinson it will become overrun with videogames soon. I'll keep supporting cons like LGGC and the Trolls Cons but I am through with gencon.

Im not going, and I'm just 5 hours away. I save my money for LGGC and Troll Con next year. The boards won;t be that lonely, I think. Also if anyone is interested in small Cons with good gaming, there is a great one in my home town; Egytain Campaign its put on by the Strategic Gaming Society at the University (Tom Wham help found the organization). 2007 is the 20th anniversary, Steve and Todd from the Trolls have been there the last 3 years. I am going to be a Judge again this year (running C&C). I can get more info if people are interested.

Do keep us posted- there's a good chance I can make it downfor that. I'll probably bring another SIU from my game group as well. If he comes you have to make fun of the fact that he left SIU with a 0.0 gpa. No kidding
We drank alot those days

They don't have thier Egyptain Campaign 07 Website up yet, but they did send out judges packets (thats how I know the dates). If I remember correctly a full weekend pass will cost $20, so its a reasonable price. But Don't quote me on that.

I'm not going... but I'd like to...

I've never went... but I plan to... someday.

I've checked goolge maps and it would be a 15-16 hour drive from Ottawa, Canada.

Maybe in a year or two ... with a bunch of friends... a nice big gaming roadtrip.

It's something I want to experience at least once.

I'm with Julian. GenCon is just not the same critter to me now... Especially since "Gen" (re: Geneva) Con is now in Indianapolis. True it was in Milwaukee for a while but that was at least spitting distance to Lake Geneva.

I'd rather spend my $$$ going to LGGC or TrollCon; but to those who are going I hope you have fun!
Oh, and if you see the Trolls remind Steve to get those Goodman Games mods for me!

I would like to go sometime just to say I've been. But the idea of that many people just doesn't sound fun to me.

Beisdes most of the Trolls are there so someone needs to keep on TrollCon.

I am working on hotels today and should have it figured out in a little while.

I wanted game

Plenty of non-3E crap being sold! Including a skills based "Epic" (not epic levels, epic storytelling!) system that I think I am going to use for the skills system, and "flavor" that their skills approach will add to the game.

Losts of older edition games being played too. Lots of older edition material for sale as well.

I'm at the Con and you still can't get me to shut up on these boards!

Met Davis, Peter, and Todd today. Plus a guy who is involved in Troll Lords, but apparently only at Cons.

Oh! The Trolls have hired my daughter to do Illo's for the new monster book! Peter is her "supervisor", of course. So now she works for the Trolls and Necromancer.

Anyone interested in a more in depth Con report form me, there is one in the "Off Topic" forum on the Necromancer boards. Tomorrow night I'll be posting one here, because I hope to have heard enough to make it worth posting to a C&C forum by then.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Well, I haven't been to a con since 2002. so I'm still here.

GenCon has pretty much died the death in Britain, in fact it;s never recovered from leaving Loughborough, but there are plenty of other decent cons who've taken its place in gamer's hearts and minds. I must try to attend Conception one of these years.

Any C&C games planned for open-gaming at SoCal??? I'd love to get into one if anyone is running...
