She's Being Unreasonable

Post by DangerDwarf »

No matter how many times I explain to her that THIS would help me defend our home when the zombie army arises, my wife keeps stating that we've got better things to spend our money on. Better then that?!?!?!? I could help turn back the undead horde and look look cool in the process.

But she just ain't hearing it.

Just remember to say "I told you so!" when the zombies are sucking out her brains.

Indeed it would be fun to fire off a couple hundy rounds from that bad boy. I'm sure I could wrangle up a couple hundred .223 rounds for a good price.

What I don't get is that she has seen all the zombie movies. She knows the threat they pose.

Some people just refuse to see things even when you place them right in front of them. Sadly there is little you can do in this situation other than make do and hope she one day come around.

Sadly when Zack comes around to show her the light it might be too late. Run her through a game of All Flesh Must Be Eaten. Then she might realize just how foolish it is to not plan ahead.

I'll have to try the All Flesh Must Be Eaten route. I gave her that book Nostradamus wrote (I think he used a pen name), World War Z. It gives a prophetic recounting of the impending zombie apocalypse. Still, no luck. I'm at my wits end here.

My finace is down with zombie defense. We talk about it quite a bit.

Heck, one Christmas we want to give everyone zombie survival kits. Which would be pretty handy for any disaster, really.

Has anyone seen a small glossy book of a bunch of zombie haikus? It looks pretty neat.

Got my own sword for in close work...

Just need to work on building that quad mecha with the articulated plasma torches and rail gun system. Zombies...pheh! Bring on the BUGS!

DOnt worry bout McBain, he is tacticool. Just do like me and get a nice Springfield XD45 for Zombie defense. .45 ACP will definitely hinder zombie attacks, especially when you've got 14 rounds at yer disposal. My XDM is .40 but holds 17 rounds if you need the extra capacity for multiple zombie incursions.

Bah. Guns are for sissies. Swords you can get up close and personal with. Nice thing about a sword, as well, is you never have to reload it.

She may be concerned that you'll shoot your eye out - your mother must have gotten to her.

Anyway, here's what you really want for home defense - zombie or otherwise:

I keep a wicked looking spear above my desk for when I run out of boolets.

My 6 year old daughter tells the neighborhood kids it is for zombie and alligator attacks.

Yeah, but all evidence on the zombie apocalypse points to the deadies vastly outnumbering us. A trusty firearm will help even the odds before closing to melee range. Ranged combat also greatly reduces the chances of becoming infected and brained by your former fellow survivors.

DD,

I feel your pain. My wife will not me buy any more weapons either. I am quite ready for a small army of zombies with what I have, but an assault rifle would be really cool.

I tell my kids that my SxS is not only for cowboy shooting, it is also good for zombies and what not. I have silver bullets for my .45 as well, plus a collection of swords and knives. I like to think I am prepared for any supernatural attack.

My wife thinks I'm nuts.

One good thing about me and her discussing the possibility of a new rifle, she decided my desire of a PS3 isn't so unreasonable. Think I may snag one later this month now instead.

I would feel better once she learned to deal with the kick back a bit better.

We should all be equipped with G36s in case of Zombie attack. dual reverse-swap extended mag FTW.

That guy who was teaching her was an idiot. She had the gun too high up on her shoulder and was leaning too far back instead of into the rifle. Plus she wasn't holding the rifle right either. She should kick the guys behind for being such a pathetic teacher. He's why she got hurt.

I will, however, be hitting the range tomorrow and killing many reactive paper targets with my .40, .45, .22, and a couple of 9mm pistols. The bad news: I have to clean them when Im done
