Power Back up at the TLG Offices

Post by Troll Lord »

Hey folks,

Its been a fun week down here. We normally get lots of rain from the hurricanes that smack up the coastline in the Gulf but normally the winds have died down by the time they get to us. Not so with Gustav. It knocked out power for 120,000 central Arkansans. Me being the most prominent...the governor actually came over in his horse and buggy to check out my situation!
At any rate, after the better part of a week we are back online. Obviously we have some catching up to do and my email account is fried at the moment. We are going to try to extract what we can...but new beginnings and all that might be in order for my tired old email.

All UW pre-orders shipped.

Mark took a bunch of orders to PO today. So those should be out to you soon.

We'll get caught up in short order. No doubt.

I'll post a day by day on the blog tonight or tomorrow for your amusement.

Steve

Thanks all! Its been a fun week no doubt. Kind of enjoyed going native to be honest. Found myself sitting up on Saturday night, candles flickering away, listening to 2 hours of old timey country music on the Wolf radio station. Pretty relaxing.

Ah, for the good old days.

Sounds like it was fun.

Nobody tell Steve about getting Courtney Solomon to do a C&C film while he was gone.

Ya... a 10 hour car ride with Steve's dubious taste of music on the radio makes suicide a well pondered on option.

On some clear nights I get a station that plays old country. Of a night under a single bulb that music is strangely haunting and relaxing.

Grats on your power

Post by chapoy5051 »

we still have about 11 to 18 days to go....I cannot tell you how hard i started laughing when I woman of African descent got on the local talk radio station and let the electric company have it when she was told it wouldnt be until October until her power was restored. Her rant wasnt so much the humorous part as was the reaction of the talk show hosts....you could visualize the open mouthed bafflement. There was a brief moment of silence before one of them sheepishly responded.....but the lady had already hung up. I think she was expressing what a lot of people are feeling. I personally have to find a peace in the simpleness of life that has befallen me. As a matter of fact - now that my office has power - i find a ton of things to preoccupy my time...and i kind of look forward to getting back home - refueling the generator and freezing to death under the cool breeze of a cheap as window unit....I dont think ill be able to sleep without the sound of both those units humming me to sleep once this is over.

Glad to hear that you all are doing o.k.

With all of these storms hitting, it makes me appreciate living in the desert.
