Reprint of the Gord Series

Post by bajori »

So I purchased the hardcover reprint of Saga of Old City..does anyone know if they plan to re-release the entire Gord Series? I haven't had copies for years, and I am not keen to purchased trashed used copies for twenty bucks, so this type of release would be great.

That was the plan, but currently the status of the IP on Gord and several other Gygax materials are up in the air waiting some word from the newly formed Gygax Games.

Both TLG and Heckaforge had their LA licenses pulled, and for certain that IP will be someone else's to release now, but other Gygaxian material has yet to be officially declared one way or the other. Honestly I think the sense is that the Trolls are waiting just as the rest of us are on some sort of announcement or decision concerning Gord and the GFW series. It seems that Castle Zagyg has been left with TLG, but no sign that the Trolls can continue reprinting the Gord series has emerged as of yet.

We can all keep our fingers crossed though.

I'm very anxious, waiting to see what happens next.

I don't know if that's a good thing or bad, but I'm hoping good.

Pure theory here, but I don't TLG will ever be printing the Gord Books again. I would be that you would seem them again from Gygax Games.

well....

I have to admit to being a bit confused as to why someone hasn't just done a very large omnibus edition, maybe in two parts...the number of people who will remember these books isn't large, and I think the market is small, so make one edition, charge a good amount for it, and capitalize on the fanboys, the one who would be most likely to buy it.

Yep, might be a good idea. Seems lots of 3 in 1 hardcovers are available for those "series" type books ~ EarthSea, Foundation and Dragon Riders of Pern, etc.

I just finished Saga of Old City and would love to see the rest printed again!

Ditto, my old paperbacks are starting to fall apart, I could use a nice hardcover copy of each book.

I thought the Trolls did a great job on the hardcover, I hope they get a chance to finish off the series.

Well, it's on sale - so it's not looking like they're still in the Gord business. Well, I'll be glad to have the HC to replace my beaten softcover of Saga.

Hopefully the whole series is eventually done in hardback. I'd also like to see the DJ novels done in hardback.

I do hope further hard cover editions are in the works.

I'm not betting on it.
