Yay!

Post by seskis281 »

Just received my Crusader #12 and was happily surprised to see my 1st adventure is in it!

My thanks to Jim and the Crusader team for allowing me to contribute. On a day with such downer news it lifted my spirits greatly!

Oops - so excited I forgot to look at the rest of it yet!

I got my copy too. Looks like a great issue and I'll be interested in reading your submission, John.

Congrats on getting it published in The Crusader!!

I'll have to wait a little bit, no chance to run to the post office (stupid government hours 8a-5p; some of us work from 730a to 530p). Not sure I'll be able to go on Saturday either, running a training from 8a-4p (post office hours 8a-12p).

So don't talk to much about what's in it, I want to read it for myself.

I read it last night and it was a nicely unusual, yet familiar, scenario. Using Hobgoblins makes it a winner in my book.

Congrats!

Do you have a full write up about those crystals some where?

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I've finally got time tomorrow to get the mail (stupid post office). Can't wait to get a hold of the new Crusader.

No specific write-up for them.... yet, anyway - designed as such so that a 1st level party couldn't keep them, only destroy them or have them blow up anyway...

My most likely hypothesis would be that Danovar cast and embued Contact Plane and Temporal Stasis with Permanency on them, then used a chain lightning spell to activate/connect the energies (probably took a lot out of him, but then immortality always is a double-edged sword)....

Definitely, unless his CON is Prime he very likely lost 3 points of CON permanently. I would say that is taking a lot out of somebody, especially a wizard with low HP to begin with.

LOL - Man, I'm no longer surprised at what some "characters" will do, PC's included...

One of my players has now "sold his soul" literally twice for artifacts that he thinks will make him badass......

Of course he just got melted by acid from a large black dragon, and even though our Cleric resurrected him those lovely artifacts are gone now.....

Classic. The world is rife with people who value wealth and power more then their own soul.

Very solid piece by Mr. Wright. As evidenced by his home brew campaign posted on his site, the man has talent. Looking forward to more, Sir Seskis!

Got mine yesterday. The adventure looks good, John. Overall a solid issue.

I was surprised when I saw the note about the artifacts and the black dragon. I was under the impression that true artifacts can't be destroyed by anything thing or anyone that isn't a god.

Not in C&C, that's another one of those things C&C left for the CK to decide how they want to handle such questions. Now the earlier editions you worked on had such suggested guide lines. I think 1E even suggested an ancient Red Dragon's breathe weapon may be capable of destroying artifacts. In fact, I think 1E suggested artifacts could have a unique Achille's Heel that would destroy them.

The C&C M&T does not make any such suggestions.

Heh - to be specific, the items at hand really weren't "true artifacts" in that sense, just very strong magical items -- especially a pair of bracers that allowed the Ranger in question to have some magical resistance. The player was under the impression that these would "stop all magic," even though the entity who took his soul in the trade was laughing the entire time and I was doing everything in my power (and the party was as well) to indicate he was being "duped" as to the equity of the trade.
