Bill Webb from Necromancer to pen . . .

Post by Troll Lord »

I am very, very excited to announce that Bill Webb, co-owner of Necromancer Games, is going to write short adventures for Crusader Magazine. Despite being a personal friend of both mine and Davis', Bill is one of the best writers in the RPG community today. Granted his normal fare is d20, but he'll be bringing his vision to the C&C table for Crusader.

This is great news for the magazine and great news for TLG and greater news yet for the fans of C&C!

Thanks and welcome Bill!

Steve & Davis

ps...if you playing it in .... be prepared to Die!

Most awesome and excellent news!

One question:

Will this be an ongoing thing, or a one-shot?

With all of the new material down the road for C&C, the Crusader will quickly become the magazine everybody wants it to be, it think. Let's see, there will be small adventures, a bit more C&C rules and errata, and all of the good stuff we've come to know and love about the Crusader. Good times and even greater value ahead for the magazine, indeed.

My understanding after talking to Bill is that he has at least three he'd like to ship in. And folks, I kid you not, Bill is a damn good writer. Now if we can just get Clark to come over . . .

If Bill's going to write a few for TLG, then it's only a matter of time before Clark will want to get on that bus. Clark, come on over the water's fine.

I playtested that at GenCon. Friggin deadly!!
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Greg Regland was running play tests of Bills Sword of Air at GenCon. I don't know when it will be released, but it is written up enough for playtesting.

Okay...I'll subscribe to crusader so long as it keeps having mods.

So, now that Bill had done a few of these, what is the current opinion of them?

I liked them. Strangely I thought they would fit in nicely with Rappan Athuk and/or Tomb of Abysthor.

Actually this is a little bit of an old thread, and Bill Webb wrote two adventures that were published in Crusaders 5 and 6 in 2007, and has not written for the mag since. The announcement above was made in 2006, and his arrangement and/or committments may have changed as he hasn't contributed to the more recent editions.

Aw, crap...I must have been asleep at the wheel. At first I thought they weren't done yet. Now they've been around a couple years.
I'll have to go back and read them.
