I met Jeff Easley today.

Hes a bit far from home this month, hanging out at the Texas Ren Fest.

Didnt get a picture but I did get to talk to him and buy a signed print of this piece:http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpage ... rcana.html

He also took the time to sign a $12 dragon poster addressed to my son. Some guys wouldn't bother signing their budget items. Very cool guy, wish I had more time to just chat with him about the old TSR days and his many other projects, but I did get the chance to thank him and all his compatriots for the many years of enjoyment I've had.

Totally freakin' awesome!!! Easley is my favorite TSR artist, hands down. Of course, Larry Elmore is supposed to be a ConNooga in Chattanooga next February and I'm looking forward to getting something signed by him there.

Jeff's a cool dude. I was even mistaken for him at LGGC a couple years ago. And I was standing right next to him.

I love Easley's art and most of the artists for TSR around that time. The way he draws undead is just fantastic.

I'll admit that Elmore is my favorite artist, but Easley's a real close second (and Mr. Bradley a close third ), but one of my favorite pieces of all time is the UA cover. I don't know what it is about it, but to me, it's one of the pieces that embodies Dungeons & Dragons, along with the Basic Red Box art and the Revised DMG art . Man, those images get me all misty eyed and nostalgic!

Ala in all, sounds like an awesome experience, Doug!

Easley has always been my favorite D&D artist (and me too especially the UA cover). I would like to know what he did since TSR, and if he still does fantasy art.

He's done a lot of current D&D art and magic cards and yes he does.

I've met him a few times- and he's always been really nice to talk to. Of course, I'm slightly biased because I am a fan of his work.

According to his Wikipage, he did an album cover for an Italian metal band. That leaves a pretty large gap in time, still.

I have that album! The cover was one of the main reasons I picked it up (aside from Rhapsody of Fire's music).

I agree about the way Easley draws the undead. He did that amazing Halloween issue of Dragon with the undead breaking down the door, and then the covers of the Magister and another FR book that featured the dead rising from a hillside.

I remember the Halloween issue. That was pretty darn cool. And the cover art for the other FR book is this one, REF5 Lords of Darkness. I forgot about that one in my earlier post. That one ranks up there in my Top 5.

Neat! I'm heading to the Ren Fest in a couple of weeks. I'll watch for him!

Excellent, DougP!

I met Jeff last year at Gary's house and found him to be quiet and soft spoken but engaging. I enjoyed talking with him.

Great artist for sure.

That has to be one of my all-time favorite images.
