Steve Chenault Video Interview Part I
Steve Chenault Video Interview Part I
Geneva Con June 2008
This was the first interview ever conducted by RPGBOMB.com. I was able to corner Steve in the basement of the Hotel where we thought it would be quiet. When we got settled Steve told us about how Troll Lord games got started and how Gary Gygax became involved and developed products with them.

Poor audio. Couldn't understand a word he said.
Really? Comes out crystal clear on this end.

I just checked it
The Audio is clear for me. Maybe you had a bad conection.

I think the problem is the background music. At times, it's just loud enough to mask out what Steve is saying. Otherwise, it was pretty cool! Thanks!

Maybe it's just me, but I always enjoy these "Secret Origin" type stories. My favourite part was toward the end, when Gary's Delphic prediction of d20's implosion - and the reasons behind it - was realized. Looking forward very much to part two.
As a side note, I too found the sound quality to be a bit problematic; I had the volume cranked up to near max in order to ensure I could understand what Steven was saying. Not quite sure what the situation is there - perhaps it is just, in fact, the nature of the connection.

i also needed to maximize volume or it sounded as if steve were whispering. if you have the background music on a separate track you may wish to lower its volume so the speaking track can be increased.

OK, Ill see if I can fix it and repost the video. There was a lot on noise in the background as we were recording. I was able to edit most of it out but if you listen carefully there is the constant drone of the vending machines.
I regret that the quality of this interview is not at a higher level. We learn a lot from this video and our technique has improved significantly. Fortunately for us we made adjustments before we interviewed Frank Mentzer 20 Minutes after Steve. Steve let us cut our teeth in him and we appreciate that greatly I'll get Steve again at Geneva Con 2009 and well do right by him.
Thanks,
-KD

the new version is much better, thank you. i did not have to have volume turned up all the way and could hear it just fine. a 300% improvement.
