From a thought in another thread, what modules have you CKs run (or as players, what mods have you played in)?

Our group:

Sample dungeon/game from D&D basic game (30th anniversary boxed set - I got this and ran it before the C&C boxed set came out).

Rising Knight (from the C&C boxed set)

Assault on Blacktooth Ridge (begin)

Caves of Shadow (D&D basic game -2000)

Fast Play/D&D - Crypt of the Smoke Dragon (converted to C&C)

Shadow of Halfling Hall

Return to AoBtR (The Wizening Branch)

AoBtR (finished)

Next up - Yggsburgh/Dark Chateau

I have not ran a module for a group, nor do I have any plans for such activities in the future. I'm a fan of reading them, but I find my games work best if I run things as I see fit, which means modules become more like sourcebooks.

The group I've got has just finished the Voices of The Three and will most likely do the Beacon of Enon Tor.

After that I *may* run a private creation or start them off on the A Series...

Their current destination is Yggsburgh to explore the Dark Chateau...

The only "modules" I've run for my C&C games are:

BEACON AT ENON TOR

KEEP ON THE BORDERLANDS

ASSAULT ON BLACKTOOTH RIDGE ~ limited usage

RETURN TO BLACKTOOTH RIDGE

The rest of my stuff has been homegrown adventures.

shadows of the halfling hall for me, oh and the little demo module from EGG in the codex... everything else has been homebrew so far. Mysterious tower is coming up.

In my relatively short (~ 3 months) C&C campaign last year (spring 2005), I CK'ed the following modules:

Beacon at Enon Tor

Rising Knight

In Search of the Unkown (the Basic D&D module, B1)

Keep on the Borderlands (B2; only managed to get through the first 20 percent or so before I moved away)

For my Greyhawk C&C campaign I haven't made much use of C&C modules. Thus far I ran "Tears of the Orphanage" and a few other sessions inspired by things in the City of Greyhawk boxed set. From there I ran some self-made stuff as they travelled down to Yggsburgh. They'll likely be going through Shadows of the Halfling Hall and Dark Chateu soon.

For my other campaign, we haven't started yet but the line-up I'm looking at can be seen in the "Stringing Them Together" thread in this forum.

Sad thing is, there's a moderate possibility I may be moving soon so I may end up having to find some others to convert to the crusades.

You know, my only dilema with C&C is that there is such a great amount of modules that I actually want to use that I've got to find a way to cram them all in.

Usually, I just pick up modules to thumb through and think "Yeah, I might use this" with C&C it's more like, "Damn! I gotta use this one! It's great!"

My biggest deal for "next time" is combining Keep on the Borderlands with the Assault on Blacktooth Ridge/ "A" Series modules.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

For my first C&C campaign I used,

Greenlee (A BD&D module written by Bighara over at DF)

Goblin's Tooth (from dragonsfoot) A 1E/2E module

A couple 3E modules (can't rmember the names)

Lost City of Barakus (and many of the side quests)

Mortality of Green (converted from 3E)

I've used 2 so far:

The Beacon at Enon Tor

UK5: Eye of the Serpent (the party is about 50% through it)

I was thinking B1: In Search of the Unknown or possibly B2: The Keep on the Borderlands next. I might switch that up with the addy from the C&C box set (whose name escapes me at the moment -- is it Rising Knight?).

Yes, it's Rising Knight....and my group is about 3/4 of the way through it. After that, not sure where we'll head....perhaps Vakhund:Into The Unknown.

Yes Rising Knight is a great module, and if you are lucky you can ruse the dungeon twice, like I was able to in my game. The first time through they dispatched Gritznak and his goblins, but they did not elminate the spirit of the evil priest. The players had to return and fight undead - and a fleshcrawler. I managed to make Rising Knight last for 3 months with all of the plot hooks the trolls provide in the NPC descriptions. Here are a few side quests I used:

A husband for the Innkeepers daughter (don't have module in front of me for innkeepers name).

A cure for Kiint the Leper. (very fun, in fact he ended up being the husband to the innkeepers daughter, a match made by the players).

An audience with the Faye Queen. The barbarian became charmed, hilarity ensued.

These are just three I can think of off the top of my head. I was really impressed with this module and my players still talk about the adventures there.

Hey hey, another group to help Kiint the Leper. Everyone in my group felt sorry for the poor bastard and so they all wanted to take him along as our guide to the temple dungeon and then on to Botkinburg, where Neegle the Witch cured him!

And I agree completely Kyle, the plot hooks and NPC were great. Lots of possiblities. Hehe, the fighter in our group wants to build a country estate near Malforten for R&R between adventures.
[Yeah, it might be built, so I can relieve him of too much gold, but who knows if he'll live to see it done!!!]

*cackles with fiendish CK glee and rubs his hands together*

Great ideas, Kyle!

One thing I had happen was the Fey Queen using an advanced illusion on the party to make them believe they had shrunk down to the size of insects. They all believed they were naked (their clothes had stayed normal size), and were surrounded by a forest of peculiar green-trunked trees, etc. All of them eventually managed to disbelieve the illusion except for Yorta (the psychotic gnomish wizard). After several attempts to slap her into reality, the party's cleric picked up the now-catatonic gnome (how would you react seeing all these giant hands descending down upon you and slapping you around?) and put her into her backpack.

Fortunately, Yorta later was able to disbelieve the illusion and return to some semblance of sanity. Relatively speaking, of course.

Hehe ink. I my game the barbarian actually got naked and danced in the woods, drinking fairy wine till the wee hours. He awoke naked and covered in body paint. This was extra funny because the player is a bit of a prude and it embarrased the crap out of him. It wasn;t planned, but he threatened the little folk with his greatsword, they thought they would teach him how to be a kinder, gentler berserker. That player left the game because in his words: "I don't like C&C because I have to play one class." Eh, can't please everyone, the other players loved the encounter with the Faye Queen, she became an important contact for them and even resurrected one player who had been killed.

One other side quest I just thought of. The female wizard in town employed the players to gather severl unique plants and other items for her potion making, this encounter introduced them to the Faye and also led to the cure of Kiint. The players also found a job for her disgrunteled nephew, he is now a juggler's apprentice with a traveling faire.

Sorry to go on, but I had a blast with this module and thinking about it reminds me of some great gaming sessions.

Ugh. Riiiiight.

Anyway, I actually had Kiint the Leper not be a leper. He was just a shepard that was so ugly that everyone just called him The Leper.

A classic encounter like that and he QUIT! Things like that are remembered by my players long after they forget what princess's they saved or dragons they fought.

I love threads like this, I have yet to run any of the "A" series but have tons of ideas of how to set things up and use the NPCs. Keep the stories coming.

Honestly it was probably best for all concerned, he is a long time friend of mine, but has been guilty of being a rules lawyer and a poor sport. The worst was one session (he and I shared an apartment at the time) his character was dropped to 0 HP by some goblins (due to his poor rolling and inability to kill them), he slammed down his pencil and said "Damnit, I'm going to check my email." It was kind of shocking. Anyway I have 2 new players now, and they are great one plays the infamous Grikis Valmorgen (see my sig), and the other is the 15 year old son of one of my players. The funny thing is every time somone is dropped to 0 HP in my game these days we joke and tell them they should go check their email. Oh well, my current group is awesome and my 2 online groups (one I run, the other I play) are also great. I am still friends with the gamer in question, but we no longer game together, but we do watch Monty Python and Black Adder together.

I began cutting my teeth on Goodman's Games DCC #17 We converted some PCs over and started them through this great adventure.
