Well, here goes....

Name's Mike Stewart, and I'm a Gamer...

Anyway, I was born in Greenwood Mississippi and move to TX when I was 15. Started gaming in 1978 with the D&D brown books (though my first owned set was the Blue Holmes Basic). Married my lovely wife Elizabeth in 1993 (Known on dragonsfoot as Indigo Rose when she deigns to post), and I'm fortunate that she's a artist and gamer (job w/Graphic Arts in Dallas). Got my MA from the University of North TX in Dec of last year and am busy looking for a real job.
While not doing the above I write occasionally for Crusader mag (when it comes out), some modules and generally extras the Trolls need doing. Oh, I'm 37 yrs old.

When I grow up, I want to be a spaceman.
-Mike

...Oh, and welcome Andrea....despite your affection for Gnomes.

In our campaign, Andrea is our "gnome master" since she plays and draws them as well as any I've ever seen. It earned her the nickname "gnomie" which is what everyone calls her these days. We also call her that cuz she's only 5 ft., wears silly hats, goes nuts over sweets and "shuffles around" the house.

Hey! Nothing wrong with wearing silly hats!!! I do all the time!

Well, only to compete with my wife's silly hats. But mine "...are the Grandest of All"!
Keep it up Andrea!!!

Yes, but do your hats make it look like some small furry yellow anime creature has found a home on your head?

Hi Folks,

My name is J.M. Haines. I'm 32 years old (as of last Saturday) and have been playing RPGs since the early 80s. I make my home in Austin, TX where I have lived all of my life except for a 6-year stint in the United States Marine Corps which allowed me to travel to exotic locales such as Hawaii, Panama, and Mexico.

AD&D has always been my favorite game system, but being strictly religious, my parent's wouldn't allow me purchase it when I was growing up, so I had to make do with borrowing friends books and hiding them in my room, and playing games like MERP that didn't have the negative reputation in religious circles that D&D had.

I am a professional Graphic Designer for a large local corporation, and do freelance artwork on the side. In addition to being involved in the C&C playtest, I have submitted a couple of Crusader articles for consideration (and am awaiting a response from the Trolls). I am also currently working on some illustartions which will hopefully appear in future Tunnels & Trolls products.

While I am not listed on Wikipedia as one of the designers of Castles & Crusades like Serleran, I am listed in the C&C PHB playtester credits (twice), and I do think my contribution to the playtest forums, and resulting 'heated' discussions with the likes of Fiffergrund, Serleran, and Sieg, did a great deal to advance the work that eventually turned into the C&C Player's Handbook.

I enjoy tinkering with the C&C Seige Engine, and posting forum topics here and on Dragonsfoot regarding how it works, how I think it could work better (or be explained better in the rulebook), and what I think is lacking...I've been working out various ways to add a skill system to C&C since the playtest, but haven't yet come up with anything I thought worked really well on top of the 12/18 mechanic.

I am currently running a C&C Play-by-Post message forum game using the 'Pod Caverns of the Sinister Shroom' module (converted to C&C). I am also playing in a D&D 3.5 game, and a D20 Conan game.

Other than that, I am happily married (as of 2002), and share my living space with two obnoxious cats. My other hobbies include hunting, fishing, football (Hook Em'), and shooting. One more thing about me - I love the old school, and think that kids these days (who play RPGs) just don't get how awesome gaming used to be in the early 80's.

I am Kevin Ray, A hillbilly from West Virginia, (I now live in Maryland, but only about 100 yards from the WV state line.) I will be 40 years old in March. I have been married to my wonderful wife for almost 8 years, and she is the perfect wife for me. (Although she is clueless about D&D?C&C all she knows is that it takes my friends, me, some books and dice). We have 3 children, a son from my first marriage, who starts college in the fall, and two daughters 10th and 7th grade, from her first marriage.

I was late to start gaming, starting with 1E about a year before 2E was released, played 2e until the release of 3E, then 3E until I found C&C.

I have served both in the Air Force and the WV Air National Guard, and now work for the world largest retailer loading trucks. My only RPG credit consists of being listed as a contributor to the Book of Names, at Dragonsfoot.

Andrea, Argh! Our Suncoast closed last year. Maybe I can order them online...
Melkor, IMO...yes you did (contribute much to C&C). I dunno if Fiff and I are on the Wickapedia either; never checked but no big IMO. So long as I can help our game flourish its all good.
Wow M; West Virginia? Now in Maryland? Guess that's not a big hike to return home. That is, "not a big hike" in Texas terms. We're "close" to a town if its 3 hrs or less away.

*chuckles* I agree. I'm "close" to Dallas and Waco, can sort of count Houston as "Kinda Close". Hell, the closest Walmart (And they are everywhere) is over 20 miles away.

My closest Walmart, and its a Super Walmart is 28 miles. It is also in the nearest largist town/small city (Douglas). Eveyone else is a 1 or two gas station town and small expensive food market.

Do it in El-Paso and this AZ will join you.

Yeah...maybe in a central location like Waco or something. A "Trolllet Con" or something.

Waco would be a good spot, fairly easy to get to from a variety of Texas locations.

Ours is about 20-22 away depending on what town we go to. The towns here are about the same but we happen to have a helluva butcher shop in one. We haven't bought that crap wal-mart passes off as meat for a few years now.

I just registered this morning, and am saying 'hi' to all here.
C&C looks like a nice simple system and that is usually the type of rpg that appeals to me, although I am used to a different kind of game otherwise. I have registered here for the time being because I am planning to try to run a game of C&C starting next month (with Rising Knight) and have some ideas that I would like some feedback on, and this forum looks like the best place to get it. From my scans it seems like a friendly environment.

More later, when I get my thoughts a bit more organized...

Welcome and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of C&C as most of us do.

This is indeed one of the friendliest boards I visit and while we can be a bit rowdy, we are still mostly harmless.

And by harmless he means discussions about strippers, chicks in chainmail bikinis and of course granny's with zwiehanders!

Rising Knight is a great mod to kick off a campaign, I have read several journals with Rising Knight and they all seemed like a blast.

I'm resurrecting this old thread since I've never properly introduced myself on these boards. Better late than never...

My name is Sylvain and I'm a 26 years old French-speaking Canadian. I got a bachelor's degree in chemistry, effectively making me a chemist, and I've "recently" (last summer) completed my master's degree in organometallic chemistry after an epic struggle with myself to finish up writing my thesis. I've worked briefly (summer work terms) as a R&D trainee for a major pharmaceutical company and a mid-sized fine chemistry company specialized in producing polymers of interest for the microelectronic industry. I've also assisted in teaching experimental chemistry to undergrad students. I have now recovered from my graduate studies and I'm now looking for a job in education or research (still not sure yet but don't believe the hype, higher education doesn't make any of this any easier ). In the meantime, I blissfully "waste" time in gaming as I have done since I was 12...
My "crowning" achievements to date are in order of importance : not blowing myself or any of my colleagues up during my lab work (there have been some close calls though, some of the substances I worked with were really evil... ), earning enough money from scholarships so that I won't have to pay back tuition fee debts for the next decade or so, and having almost freed me from the need to sleep thanks to coffee. I'm the co-author of a couple of articles, which I can assure you are fun-free and insomnia-proof , based on my research that have been published in scientific journals. I have never published anything related to gaming except for my C&C house rules which I constantly annoy you with... I live in Montreal, as I always have, with my girlfriend with whom I have already shared the last 7 years. I'm also the proud owner of a rabbit familiar who likes to hang out on my shoulder regardless of the intransigence of gravity... Other than gaming, obviously, I'm into reading various stuff, playing video games, collecting some comics and, above all, playing and watching hockey as any good Canadian should!

A bit late for introduction and I don't post as most of you, but here are some details about me...

I'm a Pro RPG Freelance artist. My real name is Eric Bergeron. I have over 1000+ Illustrations published. Although not many know who I am as I try keep a low profile most of the time since I'm not very social. (However I have done some artwork for Robert Kuntz's next books. I also do lot's of free stuff for games. (Unreal Tournament maps, Neverwinter night modules and so on...)

I've been playing RPG's since the early 80's and still do, when time let's me. I'm French Canadian.

Is your avatar one of your own illustrations? It looks very nice considering the 120x120 pixels limitation. Are you still living in Qubec or have you moved out to greener pasture?
