Maybe I should make my files on the weapons / armor in the PHB available again, or you can just wait for that book by sieg and hope it covers all of them.
Link if you're interested in this non-historian's take on the subject. Should have images and a brief description of all the combat gear in the PHB (well, at the time it was written...)

Any idea when that book is coming out?
Steve just posted that he is doing the final touches to the first armor book, so we should see it in a couple of months.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I think that a Lucern Hammer is a polearm and a crowbill is not. The ''head'' is the same.
It is really not as cut and dry as one might imagine, as the terms are not standardised. Indeed, I am led to believe that "lucerne hammer" is a relatively modern term, deriving from a collection of such weapons discovered near Lucerne, Switzerland.
Modern weapon nomenclature is an unsteady discipline at best, with many alternative terms existing to describe the same weapon, and others perceiving nuances that are only locally recognised.
The Bec de Corban (Crow's Beak) and Bec de Faucon (Falcon's Beak) refer particularly to the fluke (or spike) on the reverse of the hammer head. Consequently, either of these weapons could potentially have axe heads on the reverse rather than hammer heads and still be described as such. The lucerne hammer, on the other hand, must have a hammer head for the name to be reasonably applied. In all three cases, these are "staff" weapons, which is to say they don't get much shorter than about five feet. They can all be described as "pole arms" or "pole weapons", and possibly even as "pole axes" (though the literal meaning would have to be ignored).
A crow bill (the literal meaning of which appears to be a "bill" in the shape of a crow's beak) usually falls into the "warhammer" family (another misnomer), which is to say an axe/hammer/pick that is not considered to be a "staff" or "spear" weapon. As with the Bec de Corban and the Bec de Faucon, the emphasis is on the "beak" or "fluke", so it is most properly understood as a pick; indeed, pick-axe, fighting-pick, war-pick, and battle-pick, would all be reasonable terms to describe it.
Bottom line:
Lucern Hammer = Pole Arm (hammer)
Crow Bill = Not a Pole Arm (pick)

Neither, really. I do like the way French sounds when spoken (even if it can be very hard to discern differences in tense or other words due to similarity -- and, since I am not fully conversant, context, for me, makes it even more challenging...) but I simply studied it for a while and can read it far better than I can write or speak it. Much like several other languages. For a time, I just wanted to know how language "worked," so I started trying to self-teach myself.

It's sad. There are so few french players of C&C ... especially in Quebec (Canada).
In fact, I know nobody except me and some friends!

Really? For some reason it always seemed like there were a fair number of C&C players in Quebec. Perhaps, it's just that there have been a few very vocal ones. Hmm, not sure. I think "Phadeout" is from Quebec if I'm not mistaken.
