A Peek Inside

Post by DangerDwarf »

Alright, crusader 13 & 14 have nifty little articles giving you a peek into the CKG. As much as I enjoy giving the Trolls a hard time about the "Mythical CKG", after reading through the Crusader and getting a glimpse at what they are working on I think I'll back off a little bit on the teasing.

The previews are great. It really does look like some top notch stuff is going to be in the CKG.

The article on NPC's was a good read. This issue and the portion on Adjuncts if pretty darn nifty as well.

I'm setting up a Big Foot Sighting hotline. If any of you see that hairy bastich running around just call the number and I'll respond to the scene, tackle him and retrieve the CKG manuscript. I've got to have it.

Oh! And also, unrelated to the CKG. I got pretty stoked when reading the article on the Codex when it indicated there were plans to C&C'ize the book in content and layout. I'm sure its still a way off, but good friggin' news there.

I believe the intent is to eventually C&Cize nearly everything TLG has ever produced... the converts.

And, yeah, the CKG promises to be useful.

Heh. I think it funny that for some reason people see 3e'isms in concepts that have been around longer than d20. Maybe because d20 made it more obvious.

But if you want to call Adjuncts "feats" then might as well accuse several of BECMI and 2nd Edition "skills" and "NWPs" of being feats under a different name.

The cool thing, to me, is that adjuncts can replicate feats, if one wants, but they can be so much more than that.

They are just another way to accomodate a thousand different house rules under one official rule umbrella. It's quite elegant.

Heh. Advocating? Not really. Just acknowledging that this is how they should have been done in the first place.

I really don't care unless the option becomes mandatory -- do not put them in modules or on monsters. Otherwise, I can ignore whatever I don't like.

Ok then, all rules options are mandatory for Serleran only.

Excellent. As it should, and could only ever, be.

I want that in writing.
