3.5 D&D Montser Conversion to C&C

Post by Lord Veighn Yhaull »

I was throwing around the idea of tossing in a few of the 3.5v monsters into C&C, but I have some misgivings about doing so, here are some of the reasons why.

HP progression:

The Hit Points of some of the 3.5v monsters are quite horrendous when compared to the player character in C&C. My question is for those of you who have converted higher level Monsters from 3.5v to C&C, and how you went about doing so.

Even for base rases with classes, if left as is, their HPs outshine the characters' even if the PCs are at high level. For Instance.

Lets take a Half-Orc Barbarian 15 in 3.5v for example. With no Con bonus included, a Hit Dice 15 creature of this level would get appx 180 hit points (at max).

Lets take a Half-Orc Barbarian 15 in C&C now. With no Con bonus included, a Half-Orc Barbarian 15 would have (max hit points) appx 145 hit points (at max).

How have some of you, as CKs, tackled the problem where creatures you want to use from certain versions of D&D/AD&D are very high-powered (and not listed/statted in the M&T Guide) compared to the C&C characters at your table?

Well, the short version is. You find the nearest C&C equivalent creature and use that as your guide and adjust accordingly.
