Goodman Games 4E magazine...

Post by Treebore »

Goodman Games to publish magazine under GSL

At Dungeons & Dragons Experience this weekend, Goodman Games announced it will start publishing a new magazine in April. Called Level Up, the 32-page publication is the only print magazine licensed under the GSL. Level Up will provide a wide range of D&D 4th Edition content, including new monsters, character options, an adventure in every issue, and even a Dear Archmage Abby column. According to Joseph Goodman, a primary goal of Level Up is to get gamers down to their local retail stores, so for the time being, a subscription plan has not been determined. The quarterly magazine will retail for $1.99 per issue, and Goodman Games hopes take Level Up monthly in the future.

I know, I know, this isn't C&C. Well, everything is C&C, which is one reason why I love C&C. So here comes a nice CHEAP resource for us to possibly use for our C&C inspirations. Available only in game stores for the foreseeable future.

I think I am going to have to look into suing Joe for discriminating against me and others who live an hour or more away from gaming stores.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

That is cool. I think most can agree that ending the D&D print magazines was a deathly decision.

I'm currently running 4e, so I'll definitely pick this up. I also like the idea of making the only outlet the FLGS's

I can only presume thats because it doesn't take over an hour for you to get to yours.

Thanks for the heads up, Tree.

I'll stay at my house with Crusader though.

You should be able to pick this up online someplace. I know of another magazine, No Quarter, sold only to gaming stores with no subscription that can still be found in online stores. You just have to find the places like Noble Knight, etc that are both types of stores.

I like Kobold Quarterly. Its mostly 3e though. But lots of fluff. Good artwork and layout.

I like KQ too, until I look at the price. $2 I can do.
