Lulu is the devil when it comes to buying and shipping things to Canada.

Indeed, as some research has shown it is cheaper to ship to places in Europe then it is in Canada. I'm sure that all has to do with postage laws in Canada, tariffs, taxes, and potentially greedy shipping services (USPS, FedEX, etc). There is a Lulu research thread on DF somewhere.

The trouble with Lulu is that the print version of anything costs vastly more than just waiting a couple days for the print version of this product.

Lulu's costs are far higher than those of print-on-demand shops; if I kept my MSRP at current levels, my cut would be even less than it is now selling direct, though slightly more than if I sold my regular print products through Consolidation and Distribution. (I should note that with Key20 going under, there is now only a single Consolidator in the industry! Obviously, it is difficult for them to make any money these days, as well)

Going through Lulu wouldn't solve any problems, as it still wouldn't get me in game stores. Sales would not grow that significantly, as unlike DTRPG/RPGNow, Lulu is not dedicated to RPGs, but is instead a vast mix of all kinds of printed products, and so not a destination for gamers. The customer would still have to find out about it through my website or word of mouth, so why give Lulu a cut, let alone a greater cut, if they aren't providing any service I can get elsewhere cheaper?

I've been told it was mailed out last week, so hope to see it early this week. There were apparently some delays at the printers. I'll talk with them first thing tomorrow to confirm that it got mailed out.

Great to read that things are coming along. I recently ordered XXXI and, though I haven't gotten a chance to really dive into it, was pleased with what I saw leafing through it.

I'd love to have TONS of Wilderlands material to use for my C&C game. In fact, I'd be REALLY stoked to have a Wilderlands of High Fantasy boxed set, City State of the Invincible Overlord and Caverns of Thracia... to go with my d20 versions of these. Tegel Manor would be awesome too!

Well, its been mentioned that Judges Guild is looking at a self ressurection, and Tegal Manor was mentioned as being part of that. No idea if its going to be D20 or "Classic Judges Guild". I hope they go classic myself. Or C&C.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

If they went the OGL route to re-release AD&D compatible products, I' d buy them in a flash. I'd prefer to see JG and TLG team up to produce C&C compatible materials... it would make me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Selling AD&D compatible products as anything other than a side line or pocket money is a sure fire way to go broke fast.
The market just isn't there.
