Gamer Exchange Program

Post by DangerDwarf »

Alright. I've been messing with my collection more today and went through my Dungeons & Dragons stuff and picked out the doubles and a few items I have no idea how they ended up on my shelf. Nothing difficult to find or fancy in this stuff.

Most of the books are 2nd Edition stuff, as I have more doubles there than any other edition. A few d20 items as well (I went overboard ordering d20 DL stuff ).

The Mini's come from my "Miniatures Graveyard", a box of miniatures I'll never get around to painting and have been languishing in the closet for too long. The collection is nothing fancy, around 150 metal miniatures ranging from Rifts, Reaper Warlord, Reaper Dark Haven and Deadlands Railwars. Not all of them are fully put together, I have a little box full of weapons, arms, heads, etc. The Warlord mini's come from the Reptus and Dwarven armies. I'd like to get rid of the mini's as a lot, not separate.

I prefer trades over selling, makes me feel better about unloading some stuff because I'm replacing it with another. Mainly on the look out for Palladium Fantasy, Rifts and BECMI/RC D&D stuff. I'm open for other stuff as well though, just shoot me a PM if you have any questions or find anything of interest.

Some of the specific things I'm looking for are:

D&D Master Rules

D&D Creature Catalog

Drums on Fire Mountain

Another Rules Cyclopedia (heh, who isn't)

1994 "The Classic Dungeons & Dragons Game" Box Set (Has RC Cover Art)

D&D Immortal Rules

But, I'm open to any BECMI Sets, books and modules.

You got some nice stuff there, sir, but sadly I have so little BD&D stuff. And what I do have I don't want to get rid of.
I have some decent 3.x stuff you might be interested in.
I do like a couple of the Greyhawk items...I'll see what I can dig up.

Can't say I blame ya there. The BECMI are what got me started in D&D and will forever hold a special place in my heart because of it. Mine have grown quite ragged because I still run games with 'em to this day. A lot of love in 'em.

Soon, I think I'll start trying to find copies in a collectible state. But for now, I get 'em to play 'em. I do try to leave my RC alone though, it's still pretty and I don't want to ruin it.

There are a few items, though not many when you look at the whole lot of them, which caught my eye for one reason or another. Unfortunately I too don't have much of what you're looking for either and I seem to be in the same boat as far as what I do have is concerned.
I have only one RC and the Companion, Masters and Immortals booklets (but not the boxes) to complement it and the earlier Moldvay Basic and Expert sets. I also have the Holmes silver anniversary reprint they did but so little else of D&D. A bit of a mix I admit but I like these just the same!
Let us know if there are items you are willing to part with after the 'trades' are done.

I must say the Silver Anniversary modules are tempting. Might have to complete my inventory to know what I even have for trade / sale...

Most of the older stuff I ended up with multiple copies by purchasing "lots" to get specific items. Anyhting anyone is intereste din I'll look over and make sure the insides aren't scarred up and see if any maps are present if they should be.

Now the d20 Dragonlance stuff, I'm guilty of purchasing two of almost everything SP put out for DL.
DL rocks.

Do you need a Poor Wizard's Almanac or mono B1 module? That's about the only BECMI I have for trade.

PM sent Plaag.

Also, trades aren't a necessity. Just something I like to try.

Anything that's left over is just going to get dumped onto NKG for credit anyways.

Does NKG give fair trade-in value? I assume you have to eat the shipping costs?

Eh, not terrible but not great. They reimburse shipping or provide labels. Last shipment I sent to them they gave me several labels to use.

I did not know that. That's very nice of them! Well, I'll wait a few days, to let the traders get some trades in, and then I'll PM you, DD, to see what you have available - maybe I can purchase off of you.

Nice, DD. I wish I could help you out on trade but YOU CANT HAVE ANY OF MY RIFTS STUFF, HOSS!!11!!!11

Most of my Rifts is signed by Kevin S. (who I find an amicable dude personally) and I so love the setting even if I may never get to play it again.
As an aside, I have two copies of the RC (one in pristine condition and the other... not so much).

Rifts hoarder!

Can't say I blame ya though. My Rifts collection has languished at it's current size for a little while now. Time to start building it up again.

About that "not so much" RC, any chance I can swindle..errr, talk you out of it? I've got a pretty copy, I'm looking for a play copy.

Maybe so, hoss. I had big plans for it but I just dont have the time to play RC *AND* C&C *AND* Dark Heresy *AND* Savage Worlds *AND*... well you get the pic... feel free to PM me. It's actually not in bad shape at all, just a lot of cover wear IIRC. Nothing falling apart or anything like that.

EDIT: Course, I need to actually FIND it in my piles of books and such...

I'll assume for the purposes of this post that Buttmonkey is just not a fan of the DragonLance setting. I'll give you, that it's not for everybody.

However, some of the Soverign Press / Margaret Weis Publishing DragonLance titles are spectacular (of course within the DL setting). Some of the books are absolute labors of love where the authors poured into the books tons of great ideas, magic items, spells, and DL tidbits. If you are a fan of the setting, some of these books are must haves. If you are not a fan of the setting as presented in the books, take a look at some of the historical periods of the DL setting. One historical aspect of DragonLance that I think is amazing and will shock some readers on how good it is is the Age of Might (which takes place in the time period of about 1300 years to 300 years before the events from the DragonsLance Chronicles. The Age of Might is filled with vast empires, kingly nations, crusading knights, Armies of the undead, vile necromancers, Holy Crusades and their armies of the just, and the monotheistic rise of a mighty religious human empire (that in future generations will nearly doom the world). In tandem with the a fine map of the Age of Might that was produced by SP/MWP, you have a fantasic fantasy setting that is not constrained with the bloat, melodrama and annoying characters (in some opinions) of the DragonLance Chronicles books.

I am finding the DragonLance Age of Might historical period of the DL setting absolutely liberating in reading about, and some day hope to actually run a successful campaign in. Forget Tasslehof, make your own stories in the Age of Might!

Just my two gold pieces...

Age of Might era is indeed some goodness.

I've been enjoying the Age of Mortals in our games. I loathed the era at first but it has really, really grown on me.

Yeah, the SP/MWP books are among the finest that gaming has to offer. The combination of fluff and crunch is what other publishers should strive for.

Towers of High Sorcery simply kicks ass and getting to be a bit of a pain in the ass to find at a decent price. I ordered my copies of that one direct and they came autographed which I thought was cool.

Cool then.. I'll double check a couple of things and PM you regarding the items that have me a bit interested.

I'd be interested in taking the miniatures off your hands if you'll take a cash payment. PM me with a dollar sum and maybe we can work something out.
