Well, you should have at least another 2-3 years before the CKG takes up one of those purchases.

This is all very interesting. Did WOTC really do it because so many folks refused to agree to the GSL? And what's this about Kenzer?

I may have to pick up the new DCCs. How easy is 4E to convert? Is there a rough guide somewhere?

Kenzer used a means called 'fair use' to write compatible material, in the same fashion Judges Guild did it back in the day.

I doubt there's a guide. But the fundamental die rolling mechanic is nearly the same. There shouldn't be any problem with just bringing bonuses and difficulties across to C&C for the most part.

Although, micro managers and the points obsessed will no doubt agonise over every 1000th decimal place.

Not here. The only issues with 4e, that I would even remotely be concerned with are the rules that 1) simply don't exist in C&C, or 2) complicate things. For 1, as an example, the "mook rule", various conditional modifiers (marking, I guess is the name), or "healing surges" and for 2, it would be something like attacks of opportunity or various action types (swift, immediate, or whatever.) The monsters, unless completely original (I doubt this at this early stage of 4e) have a C&C equivalent (or can be found very easily) and weapons and armor can be taken straight over -- if you did care for the specific numbers, you'd just modify them to use the C&C version, if that's what you were going with. So, it can be done simply, or it can be done by breaking down the two systems -- in play, I would go for the former, but in design, the latter.
