PHB 4th Printing

Post by Benoist »

Sorry if this is a redundant thread but I have a hard time finding answers to these questions:

When is the 4th printing hitting the stores?

What are the differences between 3rd and 4th printing?

Thanks for the help.

No one knows. When its ready too, it will be announced, not before.

New cover design, larger font, a revised barbarian and illusionist class, some more spells, some different art, and further cleaned up erata.

Personally, I'm really starting to get jazzed about the new printing of the PHB. With all of these additions, it's almost like getting a new book. Plus, I love the practice of perfection. The C&C PHB is a damn great RPG book in its own right. However, there were little issue with it and these issues look to be worked on. Nice.

I'm with you Omote. I almost bought another PHB today, then remembered the 4th priniting was right around the corner.

Peter, I know you probably can't say too much...or anything...but was there any revision on Primal Fury? One blink for yes, two blinks for no...

I think the 4th Print needs to beef up the dwarves like...15 notches. Everyone knows we're better.

Actually, I cant say anything cause I have no idea how they are revising the classes in question. I made some suggestions as you all did. But that's not my department.

Will the accumulative changes from the various printings be available in a errata sheet when the 4th printing comes out? My group went in mass and bought eight Player's Handbooks, all of the 2nd printing. I'm not sure if we are up to upgrading to the newest printing, but I'm very curious to see the corrections.

Thanks.

I'm planning on getting the "new" PHB and M&T when they come out. TLG's ingenius system of releasing material makes it ... fun waiting for things.

I'd be very surprised if the Trolls did not release a free 4th printing upgrade pdf with new rules for owners of previous printings of PH.

They haven't done it for previous printings, why would they start now?

I'd think they'd at least let us pick up a pdf with the new barbarian class and illusionist spells for a nominal fee. Most here will just buy the new books, but others out there won't, especially those who play and never CK. It'd be a shame for them not to have some way to access the new material, without having to buy a new book. I ended up buying two PHBs for two of my players who are financially challenged. Can't afford to help them out again, but I'd pick up a pdf with the new stuff for them, if it was at a reasonable price.

I seem to remember Steve saying somewhere that the revised classes will be available as a free download. They aren't trying to milk money out of us.

Maybe it was in the podcast that was recently posted.

Steve mentioned doing something like that in the podcast, I think.

It would be nice... I bought the older version of the M&T and haven't been able to upgrade it to the 2nd printing of it. This was never a problem with the PHB since the PDF version started with the 3rd printing (which contained the new poison tables).

I hope there will be a free PDF as I'm not sure which ed. I have (2nd I think?) & I don't want to buy another ed. if I don't have to. I'm all for buying new copies of the PHB if I find a group that wants to play C&C & I end up running it.

Did anyone notice on the latest blog that monks are also getting a small revision? I'm betting unarmored armor class is going to be improved.

Indeed. And I'm on the same page as serleran on this - they need a bumb to their AC. When concerning monks, this is the most common houserule so I could see it happening.
