Will I need to buy a copy of Necromancer's 'Wilderness' book ($69.99) in order to use AGP's Wilderness supplements for C&C ? I don't want to shell out $70+ for a setting I may not use .I liked the old Mayfair 'wilderness' boxsets but lost my old ones in various moves.
In another post it was mentioned that Jame's version of the 'wilderness' setting developed into a seperate setting from it's roots in the original. Is that true & if so will future AGP 'wilderness' supplements (print n' PDF) flesh out the setting ?

No.

Cool...I know I can pretty much plug it in to my homebrew or other setting . But I'm more concerned if I want to use them with the proper JG ' Wilderness' setting , will I need to buy Necromancer's $70 'Wilderness' setting book & other supplements. If so , I'll just spend my $$ on other TLG products for C&C & ICE's RMC stuff.
I really enjoyed the world & I'd like to support AGP by buying Jame's 'Wilderness' products. But at this time can't see shelling out over $100 for 3.5 based product for the setting, just so I can use C&C focused product afterwards.I do see myself buying the print version of the M&T: Wilderness book, as I can use the monsters n' treasures in my own games. But the setting supplements ..that expand & describe the setting will be a no go.
If James/AGP is publishing a C&C conversion of Necro's/JG's 'Wilderness' in smaller affordable batches then I'd be more apt to buying them. I just need some clarification.

James is indeed releasing a bunch of gazetteers for the Wilderlands. However it isn't a 'conversion' but rather his 'vision' of the Wilderlands. Though many things will no doubt be familiar the little differences may end up being in the details.
Of course, since James is a one-man-operation, a 'complete' picture of the wilderlands may end up taking a while.
If you ever see the d20 set at a low price someplace, they are well-worth picking up. I was lucky, I managed to get both the CSIO book and the boxset for half of retail.
That said, the AGP stuff is great. I can't wait for my copy of the M&T: Wilderlands accessory.

I've been a fan of the Wilderlands ever since I picked up the NG offerings (I never got into the setting back in the day). Even so, I waited awhile before picking up any of AGP's offerings (I dunno why). back in January I grabbed Wildelrands Jam, AGJ #1 and XXXI and holy crap I dunno why I waited. I ended up snagging the maps and all the PDF's too.
The stuff is good and no, you don't need the NG stuff to make use of AGP's stuff. The products have defininte use outside of the Wilderlands too. The Warrior-Mage Class, Sorcery, etc. all good stuff.
My only complaint is now that I'm hooked on AGP stuff, it looks like I'll be in for a wait on certain products. But, as a TLG fan I suppose I'm cool with that; we're like the camels of RPG Fandom.
Definitely give AGP a go though. Well worth your gaming dollar.

That's what I was wondering. Sweet I'll look into buying the print products asap. Not big on PDFs as I don't have a home computer or LT at this time. I still buy them for RMX (Express Additions) & SM2. So I'll buy them for 'Wilderlands' too. I can't wait to see what James has envisioned for the 'Wilderlands'. Thanx guys, I really appreciate.
DD,
Have you thought about plugging HH into 'Thw Wilderlands' setting ? If so, how is it working out ?

Funny you should mention that because I've actually had my Db series mods and my AGP books out today looknig at doing just that.
HH and Wilderlands seem to be a good fit for me. They both have the grittier, Swords & Sorcery feel I like. I'm running an A-series game right now, but I'm guessing my next campaign is going to be Haunted Highlands/Wilderlands.
