I think I still have that core rules thing somewhere. it's really cool, as I recall.

I've thought about getting teh Dragon CD... people like it?

It's got the first 250 issues in .pdf format and you can search them. Great for looking up "that thing that was in Dragon that had something to do with the Drow..." moments. Not to mention it takes up a lot less space than the dead tree versions.
