Open Grave

Post by DangerDwarf »

Yeah, yeah another 4e product thread.
Been reading through Open Grave today and all I can think is Damn! I should have got this sooner.

I enjoy 4e but none of the products I've picked up so far give me the cool factor of this one.

Excellent mix of fluff and crunch. The fluff is pretty damn good too with sections such as:

The Nature of Undeath

Body, Soul, and Animus

Undead Anatomy

Necromancy and Morality

Undead Mentality

Also some talk on the 3 dieties with partiular interest in the dead: The Raven Queen, Vecna, and Orcus.

On the crunchier side there are some undead lairs, new (4e anyways) undead critters. Of particular coolness was the Undead Hall of Infamy giving stats and info on Acererak, Ctenmiir, Kas, Kyuss, and even Strahd.

Useful and fun to read. I wish more products (from any company) were this spot on.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Oh, and don't forget your judgement is currently impaired with pain killers!

I dunno. My bias against 3e kept me from checking out that and many other WotC produced items at the time.

If they are on the same level I freely admit that I let my dislike of 3e make me miss out on some good stuff.
