Something strange....

So yesterday I was watching TV and suddenly a very loud booming noise rocked the house, it had a strange echoing sound to it. We jumped up and ran outside to see what was going on and nothing was going on other than others opening their doors as well and looking around. The sky was clear and blue. We looking around for a brief momment or five and then kinda looked at each other and went back into the house.

We talked about the noise for some time as it was very loud and had a strange echoing quality to it. Something I have never heard outside of movies ect..

By this morning I had mostly forgotten all about it but then my wife called from work. That Noise had been heard hundreds for hundreds of miles and no one had a clue what it was. She went on to give me the few rumors flying around about it(mostly it was a earthquake or rocket booster way up there).

Then about a hour ago while I was sitting at my computer all the pipes in my house made a strange noise and when I went to look at them I found dark dirt outside each drain. I called my wife and was trying to fighure the pipe issue out when my buddy from next door comes over to ask me if I had a strange pipe issue.

While talking to him on our front steps we both saw about 10-15 deer come bolting out of the woods and cross the streeet and disappear into the woods on the other side.

We looked at each other and my buddy said" Isn't all this the start of some Horror from outer space movie?"

I laughed and said"well lets not be like those poor saps in the movies and not go investigate those woods".

I'm sure that in a few days the news will let us know what happened and we will all have a good laugh.

Till then im keeping a look out for Zombies,Aliens and thinking that maybe those crazy people durring that old War Of The Worlds radio show that thought it was real were not as silly as I had thought

What the hell blew up in the skies over the Maryland-to-North Carolina Atlantic coast last night? Thousands of people supposedly saw terrifying Light Monsters floating down from the Heavens, and then heard horrific booms and thunder and such, and ... well it almost sounds like a summer thunderstorm, SCARY, but it is not summer, or something? Global Warming? Let's quickly & cheaply examine the frightful evidence.

* WAVY is investigating the loud boom and bright flash in the sky witnessed by hundreds of thousands of people around 9:40 Sunday night. People from Maryland to North Carolina have called 10 On Your Side and wavy.com reporting the flash. [WAVY.com]

* Reports of a bright light and in some places, an explosion-like sound, poured into law-enforcement offices across eastern Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina last night. "The phone is ringing off the hook," said meteorologist Sonia Mark at the National Weather Service's Wakefield station. She said Suffolk police were looking into "reports of great balls of fire landing on the ground." [Times Dispatch]

* Were they meteors? A comet? UFOs? People from Maryland to Hampton Roads heard loud explosions and saw brilliant, streaking lights in the sky Sunday night. It was exploding space junk from a Russian Soyuz Rocket second stage coming back down to Earth. The one launching the crew to the SS. Jeff Chester of the US Naval Observatory is the source for this info.
