I gotta agree with treebore here, I just changed a diaper with a similar color in it!
Any chance it can be slightly adjusted to a more green or more brown version?
I wouldn't go there.
I've seen all the rainbow range of poop and throw-up colors and anyone can make an argument for or against these colors (and thus make all of the non parents sick to their stomachs!! .
Think ice-cream instead - and so pleasant RPG bookcover thoughts!

Not now.

Will the brown will be used for both the PHB and M&T?
Dunno yet. And its green, not brown. Hence the title of the post. It just looks brown for some reason against the forum backdrop.

I think it's fair to say, and well established, that Treebore does not like the red PHB.
I like the green M&T. Blue would have been cool, too, but I think it would have called for a different color dragon, IMHO.
I like the red PHB, by the way. It all looks good to me, so far.

Well, a red PHB would be in keeping with the old PHB redish/M&T greenish colour schemes.
But that shade of red really was purty 'Mcdonalds'...
Maybe a rust coloured PHB?
Do keep in mind for all these covers/colors that what you are looking at is not necessarily what you'll get. The 1st and 2nd printings were not supposed to be that bright of a yellow, but rather a sandy colored instead. The red is rather burgundy on our end and the brown is, as Peter noted, green. The problem with a lot of the printings is the color tone comes out when they run the book. The green tint the 2nd printing of the MT has on it was not put there by us, just the predominate amount of green in the title logo and on the picture made it so.
So in short, no one has any idea whatsoever what the color of these books is going to be.

Colours and art and layout all look good to me!
I'm confused by the logos, though.
Castles C & Rusades? What does that mean?
Will we be touring Castles D & Ungeons next?
In the bottom logo - is there supposed to be text, or the company name there? I can't read it, if so.
No there's no text there.
As for the rest, its designed to elicit a market for a new creature called the Nit. They must be popular cause folks are always picking at em.

I think that's Peter's way of saying that it's a little buggered at the moment, and to look past it.

That would normally be all I had to say, but since I don't post very often, I'll say a wee bit more.....
I love it! I've been saying since the beginning of my own crusade that the yellow cover, although very cool, DOES NOT MARKET very well. In the year or so I spent playing and demo-ing the game at the local store, the one thing I noticed was that nobody every said "WOW! look at this gorgeous book". Unfrotunately people DO judge a book by it's cover. This is FAR BETTER than anything C&C has had before. I'm going to buy a copy for sure!
Now that I said that, I'll add a little of my own criticism, if that's at all cared for...
The logo SUCKS! Seriously! The one thing you guys had down pat, was the logo - it was gorgeous! Why change it? It looks like CASTLES C & RUSADES. It's AWFUL!
I took a copy of the original logo and pasted it ontop of the new look and it looks fantastic! Even though the original logo had the & in pretty much in the same place, it just looked better - as if it were in the background, not separating the C and the rusades.
The wording of the book itself (M&T) is OK but a nicer font would have been appreciated.
Will the new look be the same across the entire line of C&C prodcuts? That would be a bonus!
Amen brother, amen.

The 'look' will be the same, although the colour is going to vary.

I do concur with this. I realize that the "&" is in the same location as it was with the previous font, but it sticks out more in the new logo for some reason.
