Hi all,
New user here.
Well i just grabbed the C&C QS to see what i thought of it and i must say, very cool, but one thing "irked" me.
You see a lot of the class skills would be things a lot of players would want to try. Now the quick start doesn't mention anything about players of a certain class adding their level to class skill checks, but i read a post that inferred that here, so is this something that is detailed in the full rules, or is it more of a house rule people have devised?
Cheers,
Lombardio.
Adding Level To Class Skill Checks?
Moderator: Keeper Advice Moderators
You decide whether a character should be allowed to add level to any thing they attempt, and that technically included their own class abilities -- however, for these, it is nearly always a given they get level added, and for saves of all kinds. Where one might not, for example, is someone attempting something 1) not covered by a class (if it is, and is not the character's class, then level is ordinarily suggested against being added) or 2) something "anyone can do" like lifting or swimming -- for these, level can be added, though many seem to prefer houseruling this portion to apply to "background skills" such as a ranger who grew up a la Tarzan so he knows swimming better than the wizard who had a childhood in the Sahara.
But, in the end, it is always Castle Keeper adjudication on whether level is an appropriate modifier. There is more "hows and whys" in the full rules, but it boils down to one thing.
