AGP Customer Appreciation Sale!

Post by jamesmishler »

Hey all!

To show you how much we at Adventure Games Publishing appreciate our PDF customers, we are starting our Bob's Birthday Sale more than a month early! Normally we'd have a sale to celebrate the birth of Judges Guild Founder Bob Bledsaw the third week in May.

However, we've decided to take the opportunity presented us by a certain other company to show our appreciation for those who buy our PDF products. Sixteen AGP PDF products are now on sale!
Click here to go to the AGP site on DriveThruRPG
Click here to go to the AGP site on RPGNow
In addition, we are consulting with OBS to determine what we can do to show a bit of appreciation to those customers who have already purchased all our PDFs.

The sale will run through May 23rd (Bob's Birthday Sale was scheduled for the week of the 17th through 23rd, to celebrate his birthday on the 18th). Hopefully by then we will have some arrangements made to give something back to our existing customers.

Thank you again, as always, for your custom. AGP will be there to support you and your purchase as long as, well, as long as AGP is around and even thereafter!

Thanks for the sale. Some of us will really wait to see what happens with this.

So am I. Even if there wasn't any extras -- I'm just as happy to know that AGP continues to provide PDF support!

Cool on you, James. Might want to clean up that drip, though... it's getting all over the floor.

Thank you for putting out excellent products that are compatible with C&C! I'll be sure to check out the sale as soon as I get home.

Good news since WOTC doesn't want me buying any their PDFs. Some newer stuff up from both AGP and TLG I don't have too.

The '100 series' is pretty cool. There is so much variety in the lists, that I have used these in pretty much every game I have run in the past 2-3 months. Good stuff.

Well, Treasure Troves is my favorite. It's well laid-out and a time-saver.

I just picked up Faiths of the City State, Treasure Troves, 100 Exciting Encounters and 100 Calamitous Curses... they look great.

I'll definitely be porting the latter 3 into my Greyhawk campaign.

That's my intention as well!

As soon as I can get my players out of the Forgotten Realms!

I also just picked up the Martial Artist for 75 cents(!), which I had somehow previously overlooked.

Hey James, any progress on getting that OCR copy of the JG Tarantis put up? The one mentioned in the Necromancer Boards thread?

Tree,

That would be between Bob and the Geilman's. I know Bob now knows the Geilmans did some work in that regard, but he has been quite busy lately; I'll drop him a line and see what's up.

Cool thanks! I know I don't need to tell you how cool an OCR copy would be!

Just took advantage of this sale and picked up the various "100" books. They're pretty useful.

I took advantage of your sale and snagged three items today: Aendryth's Eldritch Compendium, 100 Calamitous Curses, and 100 Treasure Troves Treasure Type 1.

I'm looking forward to reading them, but on a quick glance I noticed that you use the female pronoun for generic pronoun? Why? I've noticed this with several publishers and am at a loss since this flies against proper grammar.

Just curious.

Generally, I try to alternate male and female pronouns whenever possible. Usually, I will use the female pronoun for an unidentified GM/CK and the male pronoun for unidentified players. In the case of a list like 100 Calamitous Curses, I alternate each entry from male to female.

"Proper grammar" was constructed by men back when women were considered chattel, and has not been changed since due to a sense of "tradition" as most professors of English are "Linguistic Creationists," i.e., they believe the language "is as it was revealed, and shall remain so, world without end." I, however, count myself amongst "Linguistic Evolutionists," and believe that languages evolve, and must continue to evolve.

Barring the creation of a useful, politically neutral and truly gender neutral pronoun that doesn't sound like/read like crap, I find the alternating methodology to be the best way to go.

Well, of course I'm a looney! I wouldn't be working in this industry if I wasn't crazy!

As for the sale, watch for the announcement coming shortly in this folder. Lots of stuff to talk about...

I'm always a fan of skirting the issue by writing in plurals whenever possible (i.e., "they" or "their"). I'm not talking about using "their" to refer to a singular subject, though. Some folks seems to be using "their" as a uni-sex pronoun these days though.

All the law books I read during law school the last couple of years, use 'she/her' never 'he/him' when a generic pronoun was needed. Took a bit getting used to it.
