Attribute check clarity

Post by Emryys »

Do you add level ONLY for class related actions or do you NOT add level for ONLY OTHER class actions.

So if a fighter does thief class actions: no level bonus

fighter does fighter class actions: level bonus

fighter does regular actions not specifically related to his class: level bonus???

Yes. Only if it intrudes into an area of another class skill does he not get bonus.

Yep, agreed. Its only when you're specifically intruding on the class features of another class that you are prohibited from adding your class level to your attribute checks.

Or in any case that the CK says otherwise. Also, a rare few abilities used against a PC do not allow level, nor does attempting to overcome spell resistance, RaW.

If you use Gary Gygax's optional skill system from Castle Zagyg, you don't add character level to those checks either.
