Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Palladium FRPG 1st edition is worth having, if you listen to the talks in the corridors of the intarwebz.

Those prices are awful.

I can find printed copies of those products for the same cost or cheaper in many instances.

As I have said on another board, they wants some money.

If I were to go to my local game store, I could buy the print books for 75% less than retail. There was a time, in the early 90s, where Palladium was huge... RIFTS had been released and exploded, but they've lost a lot of their "power" since then.

But, yeah, Palladium Fantasy is worth having... it has some neat concepts. Best thing about Palladium books is not the rules or systems, but the presentations of ideas.

And I'm assuming these are scans of their old products which makes the pricing even more terrible.

For older Palladium Fantasy RPG, this quote is absolute truth. Some things that Palladium Fantasy has done still haven't been done very often or even at all some 25+ years later. The original PFRPG has it's oldness, and shows the foundation of the Palladium system, but it's a damn good game.

Its pretty cool that Palladium finally jumped into the PDF market. Especially in light of the fact the Wizard's of the Coast just bailed on it.

I'll have to ponder what I want purchase from them. Just not a lot of people playing Palladium games in my AO so I don't really 'need' anything. Oh but that 'want' is an entirely different thing. I've got the print of Palladium Fantasy 2nd Edition and it might be cool to compare 1st. Same thing with Heroes Unlimited. I have 2nd Ed, but would like to see 1st edition as well.

Just getting the Rifts book for copying stats would be worth it!

Dutch206 - I'd recommend getting the Rifts book as it was the signature book that arguably had Palladium take the lead in the RPG market in the 90s. The background is very cool.

[EDIT: No goats were harmed in the making of this post. ]

Hmm....this could get interesting. I just read this on the Palladium website:
Quote:
The rain of products starts TODAY, with two new products being added EVERY DAY for the next few weeks!

Yeah, I think they are focusing on the Rifters first.

Agree there, i used to love the system back in the day. Plus BSN and some of the other systems, but after RIFTS and the never ending wold books with god like monsters everywhere I lost interest in the system.

Rgr there too! I'll still buy some of the books, but not too many at those prices. Just wish there wasn't as much Rifts on there.

The various Weapon books will be the thing to grab IMO -- once they end up being put up.

I just read the 6-page free sample of Palladium Fantasy over at RPG Now.. The character creation rules include a percentage chance that your character is a cannibal.

There's something you don't see every day.

We always played that as the chance that your character would resort to cannibalism if pressed to do so. Though the racial descriptions later on in this book do come right out and say that ogres and troll consider halflings fine food as well as other races cannibalistic tendencies. Even then, you are right. One thing not seen... ever.
