Nothing to be kind about at all. You know your stuff, and saved me typing time.

We certainly didn't do what DRAGON did in the old days (which I put a stop to while I was publisher) of makine false articles and ads just for laughs.
I have to say, after having a chance to peruse some of the old Dargons, that I really did like the 1/2 issues. I thought the articles were a hoot. I remember rolling in the floor over the Sage Advice article that was all about sage. And the ad that sold things like Gary Gygax's scratch paper. Personally I would like to see something like that when the page count warrants the inclusion.

If given the chance, I would absolutely love a Samhain issue. It is, after all, the best day of the crapfest known as a year.

Ah, boo! There are some great things you could incorporate into a yuletide issue. Just look at the myths and traditions of the late Roman empire at this time of year, or any roman holiday based on how crazy the emperor was. Lots of fun can be had with a yuletide or end of year issue of the Crusader.

I do remember laughing at one issue that had some humorous spells, such as explosive familiar, transmute rock to stone, breathe stone, etc.
I really don't mind humorous content, but a whole issue with joke articles is a bit much. Actually, one humorous article presented in a serious fashion would seem to fit the April Fool's motif better anyhow.... e.g., the rest of the issue is normal.

I like to put my two cents in whenever I feel like it (I'm not and never will be a rabid fanboy, not that fanboy's are bad or negative; it is nice to have people so dedicated to a game.) but it won't be all negative. When the mood strikes and something impressed me of course I'll say something then to.
That being said, I don't put on a sucky boo boo face because my idea wasn't implemented. As, a matter of fact I don't expect it to be. It is nice to know that your at least being heard (and to be honest I probably would like a Hallowe'en issue.) and that is something that only small companies seem to do, and having a larger company listen gives you warm fuzzies (not really, but it is good to know.)

Actually it was a little better yesterday afternoon; I'm getting about on it a little in the house, but the foot's still badly swollen. On the plus side, it's not constantly painful beyond a certain limit, and I can take several steps together rather than having to catch my breath between each one. At least I can work from home for a couple of days.
My dog, however, is getting impatient. He's not had a proper walkies since Saturday, and the back garden just isn't the same.
Ah well, at least I can say I fell at the castle gatehouse- sounds a bit more interesting that way. And now I have something to look forward to.

I'm not a big fan of seasonal theme issues either. Rarely are such themed articles of any use to me and I generally skip them. But, in this instance, when I saw that Casey Christofferson wrote an April Fool's article I broke my rule and read it, as I was sure that the humour was sure to be twisted and vicious. Having read it, I'm definitely inclined to drop Movallo into a game sometime. Just goes to show there are exceptions to every rule.
I've only read about half of the issue, but so far it is living up to the magazine's usual high standards.
I've really been enjoying Tim Kask's Dragon Grumbles articles, but I have a request: would it be possible for Mr. Kask to include fewer abbreviations in his articles? I'm not sure what such abbreviations as SR (Strategic Review, perhaps?), TD, or LW stand for and I get lost trying to sort them out. Would it be possible to spell such things out in the future? Alternatively, if word-count limits require such abbreviations, perhaps the word could be spelled out in full with the abbreviation in brackets the first time it is used so the readers know what the abbreviation refers to when used subsequently.
e.g. "Lake Geneva (LG)", or "Strategic Review (SR)"
Good news is, my ankle's a lot better today; I was able to drive to the doc so he could have a look at it (good news all rond), and this evening Jasper was finally able to have a proper walk, even if it was just up the street and back again.
So, all being well, I'm off to pick up my issue #17 AND my Black Libram. A double-whammy of C&C goodness; just what the doc ordered.
"History teaches us that men behave wisely after they've exhausted all other alternatives."
And I have to say, a damn fine issue, all round. The Black Libram preview wasn't so very useful for me, but that's only because I already had the thing in the bag along with my mag; I'll enjoy slavering over that later.
The centre map is gorgeous and has been gleefully added to the map hoard. What can I say? I adore maps, and this one is very nice indeed.
The rest of the mag is a very fine read, with juicy titbits scattered all over it. A hearty "well done" to all the contributors and staff; the Crusader really does keep getting better.

I'll see what I cn do about that in future pieces. Spelled out and abbreviation in brackets. It will have to start with the next one I write, which will be the seventh for CRUSADER.

Thanks very much, Tim. Allow me to reiterate how much I've been enjoying your articles and how thrilled I am to have you contributing to Crusader.

Agreed. Tim, your piece is usually the first read piece of the magazine for me. Loved #18's artist discussion!
Thanks fortaking the time to share your words.
