Industry luminaries discuss PDF's, pirating, etc...

Post by Treebore »

Its almost an hour long, but if you are interested in hearing what Green Ronin, Paizo, and others think about the PDF market, pirating, integrating technologies, and marketing in general its a very interesting listen.
http://www.greenronin.com/ Scroll down to pod cast number 9, you can play it from the website or DL it.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Something I'm definitely interested in hearing, but sadly I'm away from my house until Sunday afternoon (working with a Pocket PC in the interim). I'll have to give a listen when I get home!

I'll listen when I get a chance. It will be interesting to see if their views mimic my own.

I had the time to listen to it last night and I have to say it was pretty cool.

Ha. Ha ha. I have no iPhone, good sir, nor do I have a desire to get one. Except when I'm far from civilization and it would come in handy.

I wouldn't count on it. I still live in a town of several hundred people, and I do own cell phones because there is no reliable service around here. You literally have to find a signal bounce location in order to have a decent chance of placing a call, so I just got rid of my cell phones.

Just got through listening to it. Definitely these guys know their stuff, unlike WotC with regards to .pdf's. I will say that I think the overreaction by WotC was more Hasbro's doing cause its just so frakkin boneheaded. I think it was Erik Mona who said, rightly, that the move to end all .pdf sales basically increased piracy instead of decreasing it.
