What video game or board game was your first?
Hi guys, I'm just wondering what was the first board or video game that you started with and perhaps what your experice was with it?
For me the first 2 things I can remember playing when I was young was The Omega Virus and Earthbound, this is before I got addicted to playing Warhammer and F.E.A.R. all the time, my look how the mighty have fallen from our past.

Something called Pong. It was a game with two pixelated paddles that looked like this | on either side of a grey screen. A pixelated dot would bounce between said paddles which one moved with the aid of levers set into a white console.
Yes... I am that old.

Hmm, first Board game was probably chess or checkers. I played a lot of board games when I was a youth, can't quite remember what was the first. The same can be said for video games. I just have no idea what my first game was. I can say that it was probably on the old TRS-80, that much is almost certain.

First video game, if you can call it that, was much like that of Peter -- only it was on some weird device you hooked up to the TV and ran off 6 D batteries. It had 6 different Pong-based games, like Tennis and Hockey. They were all identical.

It was Pong for me, too, though I'm not that old - the place I played it was a little behind th times (a friend of mine across the street).
The first board game I remember playing was Chutes and Ladders. I remember it being quite thrilling and I'm finally getting to relive it with my own kids.

Nah but I looked at my list of Xbox games (cuz I got an oldies vid game thing for Xbox) and found out it was Primal Rage
Cool. I had also thought it might be Altered Beast, which is the first game I remember playing on the Sega Genesis (even before Sonic -- the cartridge was broke.)
For the Nintendo, I played Hogan's Alley first. Why it was not Duck Hunt, I don't know... but, killing people seemed more fun than hunting a duck with a laughing dog if you missed...
First PC game I ever played was on a 286, and was Lemmings.

First PC game I ever played was on a 286, and was Lemmings. But, before that, if you can count a Commodore 64 or Apple IIe as a "computer," then I had played many C64 games (the first one was Legacy of the Ancients, and then I moved onto the SSI goldbox games) and on the Apple, it was Wasteland and The Oregon Trail (we were allowed to pick a game to play, so I picked Wasteland as mine, and then they changed the rules and we had to play Oregon Trail first... but I had already started Wasteland and died in the game by wandering around trying to figure it out.)

Probably Checkers for me as well, though I remember playing Yahtzee with my mom when I was 4 or 5. Battleship, Tank Battle, Risk & such through elementary school (along with chess). But my first real wargame was a game about Patton in Sicily, which I think came from an issue of Strategy & Tactics.
First video game... wow. Some sort of Atari console that at my grandmother's, I think, that my uncle had borrowed from a friend. There was some kind of flak vs. bomber game, I think, that we played a lot.

I remember the Odyssey! Some great games. Did you have the Voice Modulator (or whatever it was called)?
First Board Game: I can't remember exactly - it was either Clue, Stop Thief!, or Dungeon. Might have been Risk, too.
First Video Game: Honestly don't remember. It could have been Pit Fall, Asteroids, Missile Command, or Pac-Man.
