Just did a couple of show's guest hosting the Dragon's Landing Inn Podcast - Episode 99.1 and 99.2 As the original hosts were on an extended hiatus, myself and another guy from the UK offered to fill in and they accepted. They've been around since July 2005. Here is the official blurb on the show.
Quote:
What is this Dragons Landing Inn thing?
Here at the Dragons Landing Inn, we focus our podcast on ideas and advice for tabletop RPG gamers. We dont focus on any specific games, like Dungeons and Dragons, World of Darkness, The Shadow of Yesterday, or anything else. We never focus on a specific genre, though we do have a tendency to baseline our discussions around the fantasy genre. In part because thats what seems to get the lions share of attention, but mostly because thats what were most familiar and comfortable with.
When given the opportunity, we attack subjects from a literary perspective. For example, our world-building features were discussed from a how to apply literary concepts angle. We hope that gives you a different perspective on roleplaying as storytelling.
Mostly, though, were about having fun, and helping you have more fun. We are relaxed and joking throughout every episode and invite the listeners to be a huge part of the show. We hope you will come and join in the fun.
Will probably try to do at least one more guest host spot. Just post here or over at DLI if you have anything of interest you want to hear us ramble about. If you haven't checked it out before here is the link: http://www.dragonslanding.com/dli/
Hey, I listened to the last two shows that you guys filled in for and they were highly entertaining! I noticed you mentioned TLG stuff a few times which I thought was really cool to hear.

I just listened to the latest one. When you guys stop filling in for the regular hosts you should really consider starting your own podcast. You guys have a good chemistry; it's fun to listen to.

Thanks for the encouragement! We're having fun doing it. The next episode should be getting ready to drop here this week. We've got two recorded - Episode 99.4 NPC Edition and another much longer one called "Special Brew" where we go thru rolling up an adventure and bouncing ideas off each other using a wealth of imagination and various GM helps to include Towers of Adventure and other books. Just bouncing off ideas and putting the adventure together.
Just trying to decide which one to drop first. The Special Brew audio is about the same as we recorded about a month ago, but just had it in the wings. We've ramped up the quality significantly on 99.4 as we learn about all this podcasting business. Depending on how long we guest host, I might even try to get one of the Trolls on and join us for an episode or do an interview! LOL!
Hey nice work. A note, if I may: maybe normalize the other sounds that are part of the podcast. You guys are at a low volume level and then the music or other blurbs from the podcast are quite loud. This is very pronounced on earbuds and initial side effects were jean wetness and bloody earlobes.

Ohh something we will have to look at, though when I checked the quality is sounded ok to me. Thanks very much for you comments. I try normalising the sound see if that helps with the next show.

Thanks, the show is well done by the two of you and the overall quality is good.

I'd like to hear a discussion about horror in gaming and how to create a horror atmosphere through game mechanics and GM techniques. It's something I've never managed to get quite right in the past. Thanks!

FYI, we done a couple more episodes (99.5 and 99.6), but answer your question regarding Horror in RPGs in 99.6, which I just released this weekend.
Breakdaddy,
Changed the settings in order to fix the issue reference the bumper music and audio inserts being too loud. Sounds good at my end, but of course I'm a bit bias! http://www.dragonslanding.com/dli/
Episode 99.7 is out, with some cool features. As it was Talk like a Pirate Day this past weekend, that was a bit of an influence. But more importantly we do an interview with John Adams of Brave Halfling Publishing for your enjoyment. And yes, I do mention C&C and the Trolls.
Listened to 99.6 last week... thanks for covering the horror topic! I really enjoyed the advice! I'll be listening to 99.7 this week.
