I'm recently started playing in an AD&D 1st Edition game set in the East Mark and going to be running through Dark Chateau, CZ:UW and generally make use of the various Yggsburgh materials.
I know its not C&C, but I thought maybe the setting used might make this appropriate to post here.
We've only had 1 session so far, unfortunately, two of the players (husband and wife) were unable to make it. Instead of canceling the game the Dm rolled on.
So far the characters are:
Silas - 1st Level, LE human assassin. An agent of the Crimson Hand (CZ's nod to the Scarlet Brotherhood). This is my character.
Arianna - 1st Level, NG Magic-User. This is my wife's character.
We did "Iron Man" character generation. Straight 3d6 down the line. Read 'em and weep.
First session was a blast, although short. It was just geared towards getting the "party" (of 2 heh) together.

Father Atascus,
I have reached Yggsburgh although my arrival was delayed. While traversing the Dunfalcon Pike I was set upon by a band of goblins and captured. They took me to the tower of an illusionist named Vasuli , where I was imprisoned in a small compound beneath the tower. Auspiciously, I had company in my cell, a woman who is a recent graduate of the Yggsburgh Academy of Magic. It seems the castle of the Mad Arch-Mage was an academic area of interest for her during her days at the academy so she may prove useful in my current assignment.
The humanoid minions of Vasuli were simple enough to outwit and evade during our escape. Ive included a map of the small complex beneath the mans tower although I am unsure of the layout of the tower itself though due to a gray skinned dwarven companion of his. The little wretch was quite capable of wielding powers of illusion as well and managed to provide a measure of challenge to our flight. Unfortunately, focused on escape, I left the tower with Vasuli still alive. I will most likely return and remedy that. I am curious anyways as to the purpose of his kidnappings.
Before seeking out Superior Kovosko at Zagygs Castle, I do plan to make a small side trek. In speaking with my new companion, it appears that the Mad Arch-Mage made use of a small manor house near the famed ruins as well. Currently we our planning an expedition to this chateau in hopes of uncovering information useful to an expedition into the castle ruins themselves. I shall report back after I have had a chance to suitably explore its grounds.
In Obedience,
Silas

Fun stuff! I'm ran my players thru Dark Chateau and on into UW where they are now on the first level. But, like you, I seldom get to play myself. Can't wait to hear how you deal with the challenges to come. UW is such a big place with so many entrances every group will proceed differently.
