Camp Sites?
Trying to work something out with my captain to dodge out of work a little bit and possibly still make it for a chunk of TC for most of Saturday and Sunday. Just trying to do it on a budget as well.
I'm curious if there are any camp sites kinda sorta close to the con?

I'll look into this. I'm not really sure if there is anything that close to the Hotel or not? I assume you're looking at tent camping sites?

There's a KOA North Little Rock, I think it's called. Which reminds me, I've got to make a reservation with them. Seems like two nights was going to be somewhere in the 60.00-ish range. That's what I'm doing. HOpefully, it won't be some overly-long, crappy drive into LR each day.
North Little Rock? Nah. That's probably going to be 20 minutes at most on the drive. Depends on the traffic.

Danger,
We still have rooms available for the Con. And you can register at the door or you can still register online as well. Your choice.

I got two rooms at the Crowne Plaza hotel down the road for $66/room after taxes, its 3 star, and has a nice looking little water park too.
Its literally down the road from the convention site. What? 2 miles? One of the local guys would have to tell you. Its at 201 S. Shackleford.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

BTW, my wife got them via priceline bidding $55, after taxes it went up to $66. My wife believes she selected area 4 on a map Priceline has you select from. We are staying from Wed to the following Tuesday, so that may have had something to do with the prices we got.

Oh, and can I register at the door for the con?

I dont think its walking distance unless youre ready for a hike, but its not too far IIRC. I would have to go over there to figure it out, but I reckon its about 2 miles like you say.

I found a newer hotel in Southwest Little Rock. Apparently $40.50 per night. Most reviews are pretty decent, but some commented about a liquor store, and a good number of homeless folk(in the area) during a stay. Nothing against somebody who's genuinely down and out, but I don't particularly fancy being greeted by people who want money(occasionally for food)but more likely alcohol, and cigarettes. I'm no stranger to larger cities than Little Rock, but I don't want to stay in the proverbial armpit of your fine city. I've done it on occasion. Decided to go for a cheaper hotel in Atlanta, GA last year. Bad move. uugghh Then again, it wasn't a name brand establishment.

Southwest LR aint a good choice if you want my honest opinion, sir. That is pretty much the worst part of town. If you carry a large caliber handgun and lots of mags then go for it
Protip: If you can find something on Markham Street or Shackleford then that would likely be better.

Well, I'm hardcore as long as there's a shower facility. That's a must. I've seen people who sleep in the hotel lobby for three days, and then I have to game with them them three days later. "I've been wearing the same socks for three days, and I can't wait to peel these babies off" is not what you want to hear at the game table. True story.

They aren't dirty unless you can throw em against the wall and they stick. ^_~`

Tis' based on a true story at a con(somewhere in the midwest) a few years ago. It was definately T-M-I when I heard that quote from a guy who had been wearing the same Star Trek shirt for 2 or 3 days. Did NOT need to know about the status of his socks. Thankfully, my tricorder picked up no toxic odors in the vicinity of the gaming table.
