Hi,

I'm thinking of buying the module, I like what I'v heard about it sofar. But I want to throw out a question before making my mind up.

You see my players and I are just about to start our new (and first) campaign in C&C. There will be quite some time before the reach the ocean. And I gather that the module's premise seems to have alot to do with ships and a coastal town?

Well, my question is: If your not near the ocean, can you still play this module?

Hi Slottsherren and welcome to the Crusade!

I had the pleasure editing this little gem but I'm afraid that this adventure is truly a 'coastal' adventure. It doesn't have to be a large town by any stetch and I do suppose that it doesn't have to be an ocean but it would require a large water way where there is boat traffic.

Hello Moriarty, and thanks for the warm welcome!

Another thanks for your info about the module. As for the watermass, do you supposed a large river with trading- boats and barges would work?

All of the pre-orders shipped on Tuesday - except to Moriarty & Relaxo.

Apparently, when you put a red "DO NOT BEND" stamp on a 6x9 envelope it DOUBLES the shipping cost! So it ended up costing me twice as much to ship them. Oh well, you learn something new (or get cheated in a different way) every time.
@ Moriarty & Relaxo: Yours will ship on Friday.

By the way I really thing Moriarty, Relaxo, Slimy and Atom did an excellent job on this module and I am quite proud of it.

Got mine today. Great quality paper, binding and cover materials. Didn't realize it was digest sized, so that was a bit of a surprise. Have only read the first couple of pages, but it seems pretty intriguing so far.

Sorry, I didn't notice this till today. I think that, it could work with a large river quite well. Certain rivers may have certain areas in the river safer to travel than not and if the area is prone to fog, a lighthouse in the river could be vital to safely traverse the waterway. So it could work with only a few tweaks. It should still be big and deep enough and capable of supporting some salt-water marine life of a larger nature. As for the boats... as long as these would typically ship goods then it should work just fine.

Hope that helps some.

Thanks for the update John. Hmm... as to the red stamp thing... that's just odd. Was it their stamp? If not, maybe your own stickers indicating a 'do not bend' might be a way around the ridiculous charge.

I just wanted to mention that the print copy looks nothing short of fantastic. With its thick, beautiful cover and digest-sizing, I've never encountered a module that beats SoRS in terms of portability and durability.

Folks, when you consider that a .pdf version is included, this great piece of work is a bargain. If you haven't bought a copy yet, don't hesitate. Few of TLG's modules provide more bang for the buck.

To the guys at BHP, please release more C&C products like this ASAP!

Also just finished reading through the print version of Ronan Skerry, and it's good stuff. If this product is the template for future C&C releases, I will be a happy customer. Not only are more modules and support for the C&C game a good thing, professional and well written material makes everything that much better.

I'm looking forward to future BHP C&C releases for sure even moreso.

It's probably a certainty that TLG will never re-release the original collector's box set. Now, if we can only convince TLG to let BHP to the lion's share of the workload and re-release C&C Collectors Box with the exemplary layout and quality that Ronan Skerry has started. That would be fantastic.

Well, I got outvoted and we went with a DCC (#31 to be exact). Everybody wanted to kill kobolds at the last minute. Oh, well. I can pretty much guarantee it will be run sooner rather then later since (as I note in another thread) I've already played all the starting level modules I got for C&C.
BHP-1 was only my most recent purchase. After reading it , I like the story and it seems fairly easy to run. Good job. Nice artwork ,too.

I just wanted to add my voice to this thread.

I just received my copy, and it is top notch. A little dash of color and a great layout. I love the digest size for my crowded gaming table.

Also, I just want to say that I am thoroughly impressed and happy with the level of BHP's customer service. Absolutely amazing.

I am really looking forward to the next C&C adventure from BHP both as a gamer and a customer.

Plus, halflings rule

I have *finally* got my copies of the finished product and, as editor for this thing, I was completely floored. I knew what it was generally going to look like like and I heard a lot of positive things about the cover. However, all that didn't prepare me for the thrill I had holding this in my hands and flipping through the pages.

I am pleased and proud of the work put into this little gem. I really can't wait to for us to bring you our next project.

If you've been thinking about picking it up but haven't yet, I encourage you to do so sooner rather than later!

I've been recently informed that the number of copies left from out initial print run is starting to run low. For those who have been thinking about ordering a copy of Skerry but haven't yet done so, you may want to consider getting yours soon!

Well, the digest version of this module is now SOLD OUT!

But don't worry, "The Secret of Ronan Skerry" will be available as a full-size module in your local game store in October! We will start taking orders for it on the BHP website on September 15 and it will ship to you on October 1.

The full-size version will feature more art and a few other extras, BUT THE ADVENTURE WILL BE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE DIGEST VERSION. If you already have the digest version, the free pdf that came with it will be updated to the new version in a couple of weeks - so you won't miss a thing!

Again, thanks for helping us support Castles & Crusades!

yup, a great big thank you for Ronan Skerry. A fun little module. I'm itching to run my newbie players through it (although my set-up corner of the world is inland, so it'll have to wait). Nice work guys! I look forward to quarterly C&C mods from Brave Halfling ...

Finally getting a chance to read through this (was going to read it while on vacation but forgot to pack it!) I'm really really liking this. May use it the next time I need to run a demo game.

BTW, I really like the diagram of the tower on page 11. And "Sean of the Seven Hostages" - does he have a distant cousin named Niall?

Yes, but in true alliterative fashion, Niall had Nine Hostages There will be more nods to the Hill of Tara in future modules!

I'm familiar with Niall.
I definitely also appreciated the Selkies - terrific concept.
