Shields vs. Attacks or Attackers?
So I have seen various interpretations but I wondered what is/was the "official" perspective on shield use? Meaning, are shield bonuses intended to be effective vs. attackERS or ATTACKS? Meaning, can a large shield be used against 3 different opponents in one round, no matter how many attacks each has, or, is the bonus from the shield supposed to be good only against THREE SPECIFIC attack rolls? I tend towards the latter, though in the KISS system I can see the former. I just wonder what is it SUPPOSED to be?

Re: Shields vs. Attacks or Attackers?
Its against the attacker, no matter how many attacks they might have.
