D'oh..I had someone pick up the buttons, but they fell sick for the 3rd day so I'm not sure if they got someone to pick up the 3rd button. And if it was the goblin one
Gotta be positive though, at least I have the first 2.

In case you didn't hear, that "table" the books are on in that video, is the inventory of PF books. They brought THOUSANDS!

*chuckles* And from what I'm hearing, seems like they are going to go home with thousands too.

I bought the PDF myself and I have to say it's quite a bit of an improvement over 3.5. However, I don't think I'll ever run a game with it. I'm done with slow moving, complex RPGs.

Still a bunch of them left this morning when I went by to check about a day 4 button (no such thing) and play the 15 minute delve (managed to roll 1 twice in the same round...I officially dislike the fumble deck, lol). I asked about any last day deals but they weren't offering any discount so I guess they have a plan on getting all those books back to a warehouse.

Or there will be some outstanding deals on ebay and amazon by Tuesday.

Anytime a RPG sells out is good news. Especially "these days".
I told MrsCharlie about this and she only shrugged and said "Doesn't surprise me." ... she hangs out with a different crowd, LoL.

I playtested Pathfinder Beta and it was okay. It seemed to me to be about as good as D&D3. I'm certainly glad for the company doing well since I still get things from them like Gamemastery and Planet Stories. I'm not even going to bother with PFRPG though. It doesn't add enough to my gaming to really spend that much for it. Same as D&D4.

They sold (according to Jame Jacobs) about half of the books they brought, and the rest will be used to cover paizo.com orders between now and November, and maybe even to put some more into the distribution chain between now and November as well.

So yes, they would have loved to sell through everything they brought, but they still sold THOUSANDS of copies at Gen Con and had a copy for everyone, and will likely have plenty of copies available from Paizo.com between now and November.

From what I saw walking around Gen Con every other Exhibitor there would have loved to have had Paizo's sales "problems".

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Amazon has it at quite a discount but after checking the Paizo forums, it will involve at least a wait until September 2nd ship date.

Treebore, did you get the .pdf for $5 with yours or are you getting it free with your subscription (cant remember)? If you got it with book purchase, do you remember when they said they would email out the link for download?

I subscribed. There are some issues with the PDF, so its probably good not to be in a hurry to DL it for a few days.

I think my "Man card" got revoked today. My FLGS had a copy of the Pathfinder RPG Hardback in stock. I squealed like a schoolgirl.

I'm starting reading the Spells section of Pathfinder RPG. As a guy who likes 3.5 and about a dozen other variants of the systems published out there, I must say I'm very, very happy with my purchase.

It clearly is 3.5 and yet, it's its own thing as well. It's hard to explain. It's one of those things where one goes "I know it when I see it", really.

I've seen 2 reports over on Paizo of getting "bad" books from Amazon, so check your binding over thoroughly.

Looks neat, but $50!? And how much will the Monster book be- another $50? Id have to see alot more reviews and think before I lay out $100+ for another RPG system.

PS- Is the paizo/pathfinder site down?

Hope its not a bad sign. My local Barnes & Noble has several copies. They just had a sale for $10 off too.

Any reviews on the new book?

Their site may be down due to their moving offices. If you want a cheap way to check out Pathfinder the PDF is $10, and the book, if its still in stock, is about $32 at Amazon.

If it helps the book is a combo of DMG and PH.

Edit: It is down due to their move from Seattle to Redmond.

It is 3.75 D&D rules.

The book is well laid out and the few rules changes from 3.5 are good ones that needed to happen. the classes are a bit more powerful than in 3rd edition as well.

The book is full of nice art and IMO is a must have for anyone that likes 3rd ed D&D.

That is as impartial as I can be about PF since I really am not a fan of D&D 3.x at all. I much prefer HMB C&C or D&D4e.

I have yet to dive into this monster, but I can tell you that so far, it's pretty good. They're selling out for a good reason. The classes have some interesting new twists. Yes, they are more powerful, but the tweaks they made make sense. I haven;t read too much into the subsystems (feats, skills, combat manuevers, etc.) but a friend of mine has and is liking what he's seeing.

By the way, if anyone else is looking an alternate D&D 3.75, check out TrailBlazer by Bad Axe games. It's interesting and, to stick with the version number terminology, it feels more like a patch than a full version upgrade like Pathfinder.

I've heard about this a few times, but never looked into it fully. My only beef about this product (and I've stated this in a discussion before about Trailblazer) is that some of the problems they "fix" are player issues and not issues with the system. But I won't bitch about it here.
