Personally Id love to play Masque of the Red Death. Ive had the boxed set for years but never had the chance to play it or run it, so I dont mind pushing my GMing slot back to let DerGolem run it.

Well that and the fact that I have no Idea what I want to run next

Gamma Siege!
We have run through most of the games I did not get to play much/at all back in the day. Lots of good games still remain to be tried however.

Maybe post a list of the ones you are thinking of.

Eep! If I'm next, I'll have to get started on converting and writing. Is there anyone else interested? Maybe I should start a separate thread.

Yes, each game gets its own thread here, generally denoted as TNI: Masque if the Red Death so we know it is TNI (Thursday Night Irregulars). That way we don't clutter the Traveller thread too much. Once the game is completed, add a "completed" to the thread title, so people know not to sign up for it.

As for converting, if you make it as SIEGEy as possible it will probably be easier for you to run, and it will definitely be easier for us (who mostly do not have the rules) to play. However, if too much SIEGEy makes you lose some of the flavour of your game, you may have to retain some of the game elements. That's your call (that's why you get the big bucks)

Also, it usually works best if the DM makes the characters, usually after the players say: I want be a mysterious aristocrat! or, I want to be a pugilist!, and so on.

As we firm up our Travel plans for going to Vegas on Thursday it becomes readily obvious that even if I get my laptop back in time I will still be on the road driving to Vegas well into our game time.

So the game is cancelled for this Thursday, but will return next week.

I was thinking, we should have a back up one-shot type thing for these occasions. One possibility is Car Wars, where you outfit various vehicles Road Warrior style and shoot the hell out of each other...or an NPC team. I just pulled my old game from a box and it seemed a bit too crunchy but it might be a fun 1 shot. I am sure others might have some similar ideas.

But as for this Thursday, we will just cancel and prepare to kill many zombies next week!

Treebore: Ummm, they aren't zo-

A: Zombie Attack! I fire!

Since Masque is based on 2nd Edition rules, it's easy to SIEGEify. The only thing that is really sticky is the skill system, which is crucial to character generation. Proficiency slots seem really counter to the SIEGE philosophy but they drive all of the class abilities in Masque to allow for more open-ended classes.

Go to the other sci fi pages on this site as well. The fantasy ones are cool too.

I would also appreciate it if one, or more, of you guys would be willing to write up a "story" describing how you saw the gun fight and retaking of your ship.

I'll even give a reward of one skill point to any 0 to 2 point skill you already have, other than JoaT if its a pretty thorough story. Available to as many of you who wish to do so.

I already wrote up a GM perspective over on the Mongoose Traveller board.

Car Wars would actually work really well in maptools. Aramis, you're a genius!

Hells yeah! fun for a one shot anyway. However, inspired by the idea, I pulled the mini rule box I have, and the rules seemed a bit fiddly. Each manoeuvre costs points that have to be tracked by moving paper chits on a chart, and so forth.

Ahhhh...game design of the 80s, how I have not missed you .

Still, an evening of 3 fights with 4 on 4 changeable teams (and maps) or something might be good for a larf . Of course, we would have to have some cool vehicles made up. Maybe Herbie the Love Bug with a rocket launcher, or the Scooby Doo Van with twin 50 cals, maybe a deranged ice cream van with a flame thrower (and fudgsicles), or a wwII motorcycle and sidecar complete with Nazi Helmets

I spent both last night and Sunday night in the dark, in two separate incidents without power. So, _hopefully_ I will be there. It is in the lap of the weather gods.

Well, it looks like we stopped that dangerous 5 man conspiracy, fellows!
La-la-la can't hear you, it was five, not six

During one of the routine "surveillance maintenance" periods, I wander out into space and via a creative combination of semtex, angry pineapples, and hot lead, reduce the evidence to component molecules...or soylent green at a minimum

The impression I got is that the powers that be (i.e. our corporate masters) want this all to be hushed up, so I don't expect there will be any follow up.

If there is, and my unique combination of crazed intimidation and intimidating craziness cannot forestall it, then it is time for Aaarchie to head down to Vic's Vacc Suit Repair and Facial Reconstruction for a new mug.

I need something that radiates trustworthiness, and complete virtue throughout the spaceways, so I think you will agree I can't go wrong with something like this:

Not sure where we are in the module, but whoever is going to be DMing next should probably get the "on deck" signal about now. Who's up next?

One thing I think may not be sinking in is you killed an agent of one of the two most powerful entities in the system. One that has been AT WAR with the government in the recent past. They also KNOW their agents were there. Its not going to be over looked.

They have a reputation/image to uphold and they are not going to let some small time group step on their toes. Whether its Haro/LFC or some even smaller group.

So, I guess we decided against playing tonight? Happy Turkey Day, everyone (except for Canadians, they have less to be thankful for, I guess).

We already had Thanksgiving. Today is Canadian Christmas

Last I heard, game is on.

Might as well call it DOA and hope for better next week.

And remember, as I mentioned, we need to figure out what we are doing next in the Thursday slot. Maybe sooner than later...

I know you already had Fake Thanksgiving, as it is properly known. We need extra time to count our additional blessings, i.e. no moose attacks, direct sunlight, and the general absence of francophones in positions of authority.

And leave it to Canadians to have X-mas at the beginning of Shopping Season (the sacred period in which Jesus instructed his apostles to buy fishes and loaves at discount prices). Ya'll are almost as backwards as the Arazonans.

I offered to do a TNI slot but I highly doubt it's my turn, since I am a newcomer. I would like to know what's coming next, either way.

There is nothing planned, as of yet, that should interfere with my being able to run this game. Nor is anything going on that should distract me enough to forget to run it. ( )

So who else can make it this week?

I should be home in time to run this next week, the 10th of December. I hope to wrap this up in one or two more sessions.

So whoever is running the next game, start finalizing your prep.

No prob, Tree.

Before we started the game, I was going to mention that I started a thread to get ready for the next TNI game.
