Add-ons for D1-2, Decent into the Depths of the Earth

Post by JediOre »

Hi guys,

I will begin taking my party through G3-Hall of the Fire Giant, with any luck, this month.

I know my group and when they proceed to the next phase of this epic quest they may very well be scooting off onto uncharted territory.

Does anyone have suggestions for adventures that could be relatively easily dropped into the game? Edition is not an issue. I have some ideas waiting in the wings, like Cook's Demon God's Fane and a underground adventure from Dungeon Magazine #24, but I'd love to hear others suggestions.

What say you fellow Crusaders?

Get a copy of Hackmaster 4E's 'Descent into the Netherdeep' still in line with D-1/2 (in fact the Hackmaster's is D1-2) but it's a good spin. Another option since they are already a decent level is give them an option to stumble upon the bottom of Castle Zagyg/GreyHawk, and work their way up. Or for that matter some other gigantic 'dungeon' (World's Largest Dungeon or Castle of the Mad Arch-Mage done over at the Greyhawk Grognard blog). They could end up stumbling into the elemental plane of earth (or fire if they're near lava) which could lead them ulitmately to a trek into the City of Brass. Lastly Maybe coming out some where near the bottom of Crater of Umeshti.

TheMetal1, those are good ideas, but I don't want the party to get too far off task. I was thinking adventures that could be dropped in, but not take them away from their ultimate goal in D3.

Understandable about not wanting the party to get too off track. One other resource that might offer more of a plug and play type thing for you would be Night Below: An Underdark Campaign (AD&D Fantasy Roleplaying, 1125) [BOX SET] (Paperback)

It's a 'campaign' but I figure it would be easy to take portions of that and drop them into your story as a side quest verses the whole campaign as they talk about the Sunless Sea and the the aboleth city of Great Shaboath which could help expand things for you.

Here are the links to Wiki review, RPG.net review and Amazon (which has some reviews as well)

You might want to check this page: http://sites.google.com/site/deadgreyha ... gthedepths

It's the result of an (ongoing) collaborative project from DF members that fills all the black hexes of the underdark map of D1-3.

The original thread at DF can be found here: http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewt ... 42&t=18908

Some excellent stuff in there.

SirClarence, that is far more than I ever figured anyone would have done.

Thank ye kindly!
